HI GROUP,

My first trip to Colombia I will be going to Cali the day after Thanksgiving until Dec 6th, anyone else planning to go then ?

I am considering staying at Ricardo's agency, All Colombian Girls.
I would like to hear what kind of deal he gave anyone else on this board. From What I am being told I need to pay from $495 to $795  membership plus $45 to $50 a night to stay there for a week to nine days. This sounds somewhat high to me.

Ben

I am sure yu can get Ricardo to negotiate with you via email. You might start by telling him that you are definately planning a trip to Cali but that he sounds too pricey - Colombians almost always start high on almost anything you buy there from taxis, gym day passes to whatever. Almost everything is a negotiation.

Depends how busy ACG is at the time. Forget the membership fee. Hopefully, you can negotiate a daily rate between $50 and $75. There are a number of agencies in Cali and I'd strongly suggest you visit a few to make a more informed decision next time you're in Cali. Trust me, you'll be back.

Maybe $50 is optimistic. However, the value of an agency decreases with time. Perhaps they could agree to $75 for the first 5 nights or so, and then go down to $50. There are many advantages to staying at an agency and only one major disadvantage (bringing a girl up to your room). Still, walking in the door with cash in hand is good advice.

Walk in the door with cash. The rates can get alot better.
Of course you can't schedule ahead to do this.

What you say is absolutely the truth! you can negotiate better when you walk in the door with cash - at almost any agency. but that as you say makes it difficult to plan things in advance
