gracias Soltero. maybe i should try the Outback?? i do miss my moment in the sun as the board hero. kented sure took some grief for that - i really like the guy especially since he's been a supporter of my occassional rental diversions though wish Burb2, Dallas and he could "beso" and makeup. tonight, i may try a low carb dinner along with a singles night event in Coral Gables - part of my new domestic regimen

Yeah, I feel kind of sorry for Kented too. It's like when ever he posts, B2 is on him like a Rottweiler (lol)...it's kind of like a Ninjitsu technique where everytime someone tries to hit you, you strike the extended limb to give them something to think about. After a while of this, the other person usually starts to second guess his strikes and then you eat him alive. Even I was wincing the last time B2 and DS went after him. As for the low carb deal (and this is for Pete E as well) If you are doing it right, you start off doing two weeks of straight protien (meat). At the end of the two weeks no matter how much you eat(within reason) you will lose 15 to 20 pounds during those two weeks. After that, you risk going into ketosis (carb deficiency) so eat at least one carb a day. When you lose what you want, adjust accordingly. Try it and let me know how it works for you.

i'm just giddy with my weight loss... truly am now the PAPI. no mas gordo! i was a fatty! Anyway, i have stuck mostly to low carb but i could not get Dolly to cooperate completely during my stay at CSH. She just didn't get it that fruit is not low carb. but we love her anyway. i need to lose another 10 lbs then i am going to slowly add a few things like fruit and oatmeal. Regarding a possible side trip to BQ - Avianca often has deals that for a small upgrade like $25, you can get a Colombia domestic ticket. Food (low carb) For Thought

On my first or second visit to BQ, I was sitting in the peso 26. it was rather empty. I was somewhat inebriated and met a very attractive woman who later decides to go back to my hotel with me and spends the night. She gave me her phone number in the morning but even though I later called and spoke to her we never managed to hook up again. Anyway, several months later on a return visit to BQ I run into her again in a bar/establishment of ill repute. She was very apologetic about not telling me her profession but I was not upset. I guess she was just in a charitable mood that first night because she did not ask me for money – but I was very surprised to later run into her again under those circumstances. Hey, maybe we should sign her up for the agency ;-)

I for one appreciate this step.  It must be a difficult choice to make, but its something that pays itself off in spades over time for everyone concerned.

Jamie,

Thanks for this list. I wish all agencies would do this, and long ago- a great idea. Perhaps it would help both the men and women if you also included a list of bad gringos who you refuse to do service for, the repeated users who have no intentions whatsoever of meeting a foreign wife. Not only would the ladies like to see this list, but it would also help the gringos in the long run because our reputation would be much improved and hence, more quality ladies would join agencies. What do you think?

We treat the women as clients and do advice them but to date I have not run into any “bad gringos” that have visited us. I hear about them from others and have had some minor situations come up with non visiting customers that were quickly taken care of. Have had some women from other agencies mail me photos of men who mistreated them. However, I would not publicly show a list of male clients that had misbehaved we would handle this internally. If the act was criminal we would notify other agencies or interested parities of what had happened to protect others.

While you do have bad women and bad gringos the much bigger problem is with the agencies. They steal more money than all the bad women combined. I will be addressing this topic on my website soon with some hard examples.

As for showing the women a list of men to stay away from this would have one effect, to scare the women from joining. There is a heavy fear factor in Colombia as it is.

Jamie has thrown down the gauntlet in regards to exposing known scammers in his own agency. Not only did he kick these scammers to the curb...he exposed them publically! With actual photo's to go with the names. Guys can see for themselves that it takes way more than just a pretty face, to makes a good mate!

CALI/BOGOTA AGENCY OWNERS! It's time to shit or get off the pot! Guys going south still must take responsibility for what "they" do wrong. But being victimized by known scammers shouldn't be part of it! To Jamie's credit, these woman represent just a tiny percentage of the ladies on his site!

Well Done Jamie!

... in response to Agency owners.....Time to step up!!!, posted by Hoda on Oct 27, 2004

I think your dreaming here..aside from the obvious scammers, how about the many women active in the agencies not serious about finding a mate – only looking for someone to take them and their friends to dinner and drinks because their Colombian boyfriends don’t have pesos? How about the minors sneaking into the agency because nobody checked the ID? The woman that frequently does not show up for her appts or the one asks for a "loan" on the first or second date. Aside from an occasional disciplinary action - forget it, few other owners are likely to follow Jamie’s lead here – they need the inventory to attract us gringos to their galleries/agencies. I don’t have the answers but it would seem that some agencies could do a better job in recruiting more woman – then, screen them better when they join and setup rules like not asking for money and explain the "ley" to the new recruits at the get go. But it is a tough business, low volume. I wanted to try it from time to time but there is no money in it and low demand because most gringos are afraid to travel to Colombia or would not consider importing a foreign bride. Panama would be a good place for an agency – but they don’t seem to have the women. Same goes for Costa Rica for the most part aside from Kented getting lucky. And forget Managua – what a dump!

Thanks for the page.  It goes quite a ways to putting a face(s) to scammers.

I would also highly recommend reading and taking to heart the tips and suggestions on that webpage.  The tips and suggestions are just as important if not more so than the photos themselves.  If one has trouble spotting RED-FLAGs here is how too.  As stated, a lady should answer all your questions and have questions herself.  I know this one personally.  If she does not have questions or does not answer yours fully, thats a RED-FLAG or a potential RED-FLAG.  Thats an indicator she is not or may not be genuinely interested in you.  No one is that shy.  Someone that is thinking longterm relationship wants to know as much about the person they are seriously considering spending a lifetime with.
