In the context of our search someone feels they have been discriminated against, ala Clays experience with the Peru agency.Or if its somehow relevant otherwise, perhapws in how a guy feels he is percieved by a girl or in some situation.
Hodas comments a few years back about his experience in Bogota were enlightening about Colombian society, race perception class structure and just having an experience of being perchieved differently. As in faces drop when he walked in the room.
I think we ought to cut people a little slack in describing their experiences. We don't have to agree, just see their point of view.
People have a tendency to jump on Clay alot because of aversion to his past posts. He is making big progress lately,so lets cut him some slack if he comes up with an opinion we don't agree with. Its obviously important to him,if not to us.
How about we try to be kind to people? Its easy to just nail them but that just sends us down the wrong road here.I don't want to send Clay or Troy away for stating their opinions. And there is always the option to just ignore.

You are definitely Heaven's gate-keeper...lol.

Pete, no one here gets free rides with what they post! NO ONE! All of us who do post, have taken lumps & have returned the favor in kind. As brotha Locii once mentioned...NO FREE RIDES! Clay's making progress...that bro, is debatable! Yes, he has made his way to Colombia, after repeated attempts of telling him, to do so. BUT....he made that trip only because Lisbeth kicked him to the curb, once and for all. Oh St.Pete, I do recall you telling him not to come back crying to us, after she shiits on him (lol). Sounds like you did a little jumping of your own..heheh! Clay also reverted back to leading with his wallet, as opposed to his mind (for lack of a better word...lol). I believe, but I may be wrong, that you had something to say about this...

Pete...once anybody states an opinion here, it's open for agreement or disagreement. I can't recall anyone, who has a perfect record of agreement from the posters here. PL isn't perfect, but we're working within an imperfect, but necessary environment (the internet). Folks come & go here. You & I have both mentioned here, about the posssibility of packing up & leaving. But...we're both still here, aren't we? For every person that leaves, one will come. I can remember some of the names from waaaaaay back in early 99, before I started at post. I believe, it would be safe to say that 75 percent of them, are long gone from the list, for whatever reason.

Pete, you wouldn't be feeling sorry for Clay & Troy, because they're Black, would you?

JUST KIDDING FOLKS, I'M JUST KIDDING...LOL!

Howard,
I just felt they where being jumped on a little too much and I don't want either one of them to go away.
And Clay Didn't come crying back after she sh!t on him again.Sounds like he finaly had enough of it.I was a little suspicious he had arived at that decision after meeting the new chica, but he says no.At least the new chica should prevent him from going back there again.
Without mentioning names I have seen it before here where a guy who seemed to have alot of problems pretty much had them solved by meeting the right woman.I hope that is the case here with Clay. For all his faults I think his heart is in the right place.

Pete

I agree with most of what you're saying.  I wouldn't ban either of them if it was my board.  This board has gotten pretty slow lately and the activity today is more interesting than nothing being posted.

I did a limited search myself of Troy's posts on the Latin board.  I don't agree with a lot of what he posts but most of the time he remains civil and actually debates the issues, unlike many of the posters here.

The quote Ray found of him posting something about a "dim-witted old white guy" is in poor taste and would probably have drawn his own wrath if it was turned around, but I found no other cases where he was calling people names.  They may be there, but I think they are few.

As for me, I believe in pointing out when people are being hypocritical.  I think that's only fair, and it's fair that the same standard should be applied to me.  But I don't see being hypocritical as grounds for being banned.  Only scorned.
