Its been a few days now and I hope the jet lag has worn off some (mine nearly killed me).  Have her take melitonin - worked real well for me.

Had a chance to site see and show her around?  What kind of comments is she making?

BTW, when is the Wedding Day?  I might try to come if its at a good time and you don't mind.

Hi Bear,

I am not sure when the wedding will be yet. Maybe tomorrow! ;o)) We will probably get married when we get our license.

Marife has been doing well the past few days. Today was one week since she arrived in the US. We have been very busy. Not much sight seeing yet, just riding along with me on personal errands, as I point out various spots where I had shootings, bad accidents, and fires. Today my aircon compressor locked up in my car and my engine overheated. I don't think she will miss the cold. ;o)) We were close to my ex-in-laws, so I pulled in to check out the problem. She hit it off well with them and fell in love with my 2-year old nephew, who was visiting. Tomorrow she may actually get to see some sights, as I am planning to take her to the "Material Girl's" former house for lunch and to visit my cousin.

A few of her comments so far, besides "I love you!": Upon arrival, "The US is very strange! It (the US) is too big! ;o)) The roads are big and scary!" When I asked her about my driving, "You drive slow!" (80-105mph - smooth, straight, wide expressway - she looked at the speedo and couldn't believe how fast we were traveling). About my various gadgets, "You're high tech!" Around my neighborhood, "I miss the roosters! It's too quiet! It's so clean. I miss the garbage?" Passing the landfill (dump), "Why isn't it smoking? Where are the squatters? Where is the garbage? Why is there a fence?" Picking up my son at school, "The elementary school girls are my size." Reading an advertising flier, "I know many of the Spanish words!" Around town, "There are more Asians than I thought!" About my purple G-string, "Oh my gosh hehehe, Oh no hehehe, Baby please hehehe, Oh my hehehe... After one week, "It's kind of nice here and not so scary."

Belated congrats, that is.  I've been off on business travel and upon return the inbox is full, the grass is long, and my poor neglected wife requires extra attention!

Re: Catfight - If it happens make sure you take plenty of pics for SteveG Shocked))  I'll put my money on Marife... like Jean's Marla, I can see her riding on the back of the other woman ROFL!!

Hi Brian,

AW...LOL No, my ex is a Latina! Which means she somehow believes that I still belong to her, even after being divorced for 6 years. She won't give me an annulment because she wants to hook up with me again in the afterlife. =:o0 Her excuse for calling was to check on our kids...even though they were at school. She came by twice to check out my fiancee, but she was sleeping. ;o))

Hi Jean,

I don't have a racing license and I usually obey speed limits...at least in town. My father drove much faster. ;o)) I am an EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operations Course - Police, Fire, Ambulance) Instructor and Evasive Driving graduate. The particular car I was driving has a speed governor, which won't allow me to go over 106 MPH. I need to reprogram it! I used to go faster than that in my old 71 Volkswagen van (modified). I haven't done any bootleg turns or 360's for her yet. ;o))

Cold below 80 degrees...LOL. I turned my house thermostat up to a warm 77 degrees after Marife got here. My AC compressor went out in my car yesterday. I think Marife is happy about that. ;o)) I am amazed that she doesn't mind the wind in her face and hair.

I need to check on the marriage license this week.

Dave and Marife,

It does my heart good to hear that you guys are adjusting to each other so well and so quickly :c)  I am truely happy for the two of you!  You know Dave, you can feel free to e-mail me pictures anytime you like :c)

Ayesa had alot of questions and shared similar thoughts just after her arrival here, but the one question that I couldn't answer to her satisfaction was "Why doesn't anyone here ever use an umbrella?"  The other thing that killed me was her assuming that the garbage disposal was just that, a garbage disposal.  I caught her putting in paper towels, candy wrappers, just about anything small enough to cram in there!  When I tried to explain that it's only for food scaps she asked, Slightly embarrassed "Well, why do they call it a garbage disposal then?"  Again, I had no brilliant answer :c)

You guys are in my thoughts and prayers :c)  Enjoy getting to know one another better ;c)

Keep the Faith

Hi H,

I need to take some more photos and get them developed. Marife doesn't like to be the center of attention, so I usually have to wait until I get another person or two to make a group or an interesting background or object. I still need to develope the photos of me and Jay. I will have to check them first to make sure they are PG rated. ;o))

Marife has asked the umbrella question. We have seen a few Latin and Haitian women using them, but she wonders why more people don't use them. Marife has mastered the rice cooker and electric stove. She is a little unsure of the garbage disposal (Where does it go?). I think I'd better run out and buy more frozen lumpai and lumpia wrappers, as we are about to run out.

Keep the Faith and keep the good news coming!

It all sounds great-except the aircon problem. I never considered an area looking "too clean" a problem but after visiting I can understand that. I don't recall seeing too many mowed lawns over there. At least you have palm trees down there. I tried to explain to Carmen about how our trees lose all their leaves for the winter. She's seen it on TV but it's a strange concept.

Hey MG,

Marife is a little disappointed that the leaves don't change color and fall in South Florida. On the other hand, she likes the warm weather. She finds lawn mowing very amusing. ;o))

Maybe you should help Marife write a book on her experiences. She sure seems to have a way with words (ROFL)

That was also one of the wife’s early comments when she arrived here: “It’s so quiet here at night”.

I’m glad to hear that Marife has already adjusted in one week :-)

Thanks Ray,

Marife is very funny even when she doesn't want to be. She is doing very well. Everyone is finding their grove. My ex has threatened to come by today. She is pissed because she is the only one that hasn't met her. I hope Marife is taking a nap again when she comes. ;o))
