Haven't been over here in awhile.  I checked back in and was reading some of the old, old archives.  It's actually kind of funny to read that stuff.

This marks the 4 year anniversary of my innagural trip to Colombia.

For those of you who weren't around back then, I got engaged on my second trip like a dumbass...dated her for about a year and was married in Sept/2001.  Stayed married for only 4 mos before we divorced and she went back to Barranquilla.  That was difficult for both of us, but it seems like she has bounced back...life does go on.

What a long strange trip it's been.

Mike,
Good to hear from you.I presumed you were busy having a good time. You are one guy with the stats, like age looks and money to actually land an acceptable woman in the US so since we didn't hear from you I presumed you did.
Also sounds like you have mellowed out about your ex.You were pretty down on Colombianas for awhile. And I am alot less polyanna about Colombianas after living here 10 months but for me its still the best thing going.
Still lving in Cali.Still popping Testosterone and Viagra.Medical science is good for old guys. But jacuzzis can get some bacteria so its good to be carefull what you do in them.Minor problem.
I have 2 guys living here full time now and one guy coming tonight for 2 weeks.Good guys.Fun to have around. Its intertaining to watch it all.Kind of like casting central.
Mucho talent showing up daily.
If you didn't see my pictures go to photos.Yahoo.com
slash preiguren  my slash doesn't work.
Ever tempted to go for another Colombiana?SOMETIMES it works, less often then I used to think. But we have lots of fun diversion while looking.

Pete

Pete,
I don't think I really anti-Colombianas.  And my ex & I are on pretty good terms, and I'm thankful for that.

Having been through this, I do have some opinions.  I personally don't think I will ever marry another woman who does not live in the United States.  There are all sorts of women in TX, in terms of ethnicity, and it's difficult finding one that you are compatible with as it is.  When you throw all the variables that come with bringing a bride over here, it just takes the risk profile up too much for my blood.

I'm not saying it can't work for some types of men, because it can...but to think that the odds are some how in your favor is just plain foolish.

I do love the latin culture and will continue to travel around when I can.  You are right, the "chase" down in Colombia is by far the most exciting part of the deal...in fact, it is quite addictive.

Its nice to hear from an intelligent guy who doesn't mince words, tells it like it is, and shoots straight from the shoulder.  Please check in more often.

Well, I still see some names I remember.

Looks like we have DallasSteve on wife number 2.

And we have PeteE living down in Colombia popping testosterone & viagara.

And good ole Hoda is still here.  Hoda, I hope all is well with you bro.   I'd love to hear from DCNupe (eddie) & see how he and his family are doing.

Nothing too exciting with me.  I've been dating alot up here in Dallas.  I've been down to Costa Rica a couple of times, and am going again next weekend.  Fun place that is pretty low stress, easy to get in and out of, and gringo friendly.  Don't get me wrong, I like Colombia but it's nice to be able to travel around the countryside without worrying about getting jacked all the time.

Good to hear from ya. Things are going very well with me & my lady. Maybe one day, we'll be able to travel around the countryside in Colombia without reservations. Hey!!!! Speaking of travelers to the countryside....has anyone from Cali-Vet? He's been able to pretty much go wherever he has wanted to go in Colombia.
