Hello everyone! Just wanted to post some good news for a change.I know some of the regulars.PeteE CaliJames and Craig. I have also posted my story afew times. A quick summary: Met my wife on my 5th trip had 3 other girls I would say I was serious with. CaliJames gave me my wifes # and I hired her as my translator. She worked for me 1 week I asked her out proposed the next day. We have been happily married 3 years as of 9-2-04.My advise everyone of us are different you have to make your own judgement calls.Pete E you are a good man if you stay there  I am sure you will find someone. I think you need to decide whats best for Pete and not listen to everyone else. A side note I know zero spanish. I am 41 my wife is 27. She is more mature than me.Rookies their are a few things you can get from this board Pete E, Cali James, Cali vet, Cali Pro, Zack,Craig,JimC,
Zack are guys who when they post give very knowledgable advise These guys have been to Colombia numerous times let them save you time and money. Last Good luck to everyone of you guys even though we don't always agree we have a special bond. Thanks again Cali James I owe you bigtime

That is a great story, I'm happy for the two of you.  However, your note about speaking zero spanish shouldn't encourage these guys.  As you noted, your wife was a translator, so it wasn't important for you.  I think it's very important to learn at least a little spanish if you want to find bliss in Colombia.

Dave,
You are one of our success stories.Congratualations.I have never met your wife but James speasks very highly of her.James did very well himself.So its not all newbies and guys going for number 2.
I had a wife and a girlfriend who spoke more english than my spanish.It made it easy to be lazy.I KNOW I need to learn more spanish.Now I have to do it.Knowing and doing are not the same,plus there is the old dog story.
Look me up again if you get here.I would like  to meet your wife.
