I am leaving for BQ next week.
Has anyone ever flown Avianca via E-ticket? They told me they didn't have E-tickets until recently. Well, I purchesed my E-ticket and told them to email it to me which they did. They sent it via an attatchment which I could not open. It required an acrobat reader, which I have used before. I tried to download that reader via the internet but it said "your 30 day trial period is used up". In other words, I have to pay $500.00 and buy the acrobat program just to open the email and print my ticket. No thanks. Avianca told me that I don't need the printed ticket. All I need is my confirmation number and a photo ID and I can check in. To be honest with you, I don't trust Avianca. Sometimes what Avianca says and what they do are two different things. I don't want to show up at check-in without a ticket and be given some bad news. Has anyone ever checked in
at Avianca with only a confirmation number, ID, but no ticket?

I paid for a ticket July 2 over the phone in Cali then went to the airport July 3 and flew out.I did have to get in the buy ticket line to pick up the ticket. They did not give me my return E ticket,I have to go to the buy ticket line in Miami on 8/2..
But,I stood in line for about 2 hours to get checked in in Cali. They were searching luggage at the check in.Then like 30 min line inside the departures area for DAS(Colombian immigration). They sent me to get X rayed with 15 miniutes to go to catch my flight.I said I will miss my plane, thet said no problem, its fast.It was.5 miniutes in a little room right next to the departure booths.
I made the plane with 10 miniutes to spare.
They said check in at Miami 3 hours before the flight.I think its alot faster than in Cali,2 should be plenty.I hate people wastung my time almost as much as missing planes, which I have not done since 2000 when I couldn't get a certain Colombiana to move her a-s in the morning.

Pablo,

I already have the ticket via fax. Every time I tried to open the email attatchment, it read "download cannot continue. Error parsing voucher"  Huh

I never was able to open the email attatchment. I will look into that website when I return. To be honest, I'm tired of messing with it right now. Thanks for the info.

Craig,

I tried that and after several hours it still read "download still in progress" Must be something wrong with my computer. Avianca finally faxed the ticket to me.
