But you are not married now so what does that make you? I feel that a 40
something man that has to go to a bar to pick up woman has problems with
sex and relationships.  Could it be that unless you find a woman that has had
enough to drink they see right thru you for what you really are... a broken
down old man walking around with his shirt un button down to his navel
trying to act like he is a young stud again.... And to top everything off he has
to come to a forum for men that are looking for wives to brag that is is a
stud. What a joke you have become.... too bad your kids could not see you
now what a great father figure you are... your ex wife is the lucky one she
does not have to put up with your crap anymore.....

 If he did not brag about his sexual exploits then he would have nothing to
talk about... he lives in Cali but all his has to talk about is picking girls up in
bars and call them classy.... you would think he would want to go places see
everything since he is retired.. maybe he does not have enough money since
he has to spend all his pesos on the ladies to get them home with him....

Clay and Phoenix are one and the same. If you two are pals, I won't try to talk you out of that, and I suppose he is a "nice guy". But his history over the past four years on LWL and now here is a long path of self-pity; whining; blaming women for his travails while never admitting any fault of his own; insisting upon blind submission from any woman who would be blessed with the privilege of marrying him; openly fantasizing about showing off his (as yet strangely elusive) new hottie to women who have spurned him, for the purpose of vindicating his ego, instead of searching for a woman to love; demonstrating that what he really wants is a puppy; posing absurd rhetorical questions to gain attention; pointing out negative news articles to show how the deck is stacked against him; ignoring sound advice even when he supposedly is seeking it; never congratulating anyone for their success (note progress in this regard: he did say "congrats" to someone recently, though he couldn't get himself to finish the word-- but YAYYY Clay!); and denying he is Clay. Among other things, that is.

Well said, Bueller.

I'll add:
1. SO many people have taken the time to write constructive comments to him. It was and is pointless.

2. Highest on his list of desireable qualities is usually "sweetness" which appears to be his code word for submissive. Never anything about compatibility, mutual interests/mutual goals, best friend, etc.

3. Some of what he writes (if true) portrays him as a menace, a pest. It's like he's stalking these cashiers and clerks in his head.

4. The kiss-by-kiss description a year or two ago of a 40- something guy with a poor 20-something girl in a Panama City hotel room was just plain creepy.

 I think this encapsulates the answer to Troy's question. We've tried being civil and constructive; realizing how futile that is, most of us have just gone into whack-the-piñata mode.
