my girl made reservations at the versailles hotel for me.  8 nights worth.  i met her through correspondence a while ago, and we have been increasing our nerves ever since to take the next step.

No agency use at this time.

I told her to get a nice hotel with a pool, but she said after she checked a binch of places, that ths was the best overall she found for the following points:

Rates are extremely affordable, in a safe area, allows guests in the room ( i did not know this was not usual) and with the quality of the hotel being nice and the price being half of a hotel witha  pool, it would hsave me money.

i couldnt disagree with her logic, so i said pick me up from the airport and show me to the hotel!  its nice having a woman like this (so far) in my life.  Wish me luck

have you been to BAQ before? the Versalles is a decent hotel. small, friendly, clean, cheap, in a good area and includes breakfast. prices run about $75000 pesos. if you get tired of it and want a few days in a pool, try to see if you can negotiate a deal with the Barranquilla Plaza. you should be able to get in there for about $60us. for things to do you´ve got the Buena Vista Mall and the piso 26 (the top floor of the Barranquilla Plaza hotel). be sure to take a walk from your hotel to the El Prado hotel for a cocktail. it is very pretty and they have a beautiful pool. you might also consider a short trip to Cartegena - about 1.5 hrs from BAQ. taxi´s there run about 75000-120000

Keep your mind open and have a blast. Also leave the bottle water home. The best bottled water I have ever had was from down there. Have fun David

Gotta' admit the water bottle sounded kind of odd.

Are you talking about a single small bottle so you can brush your teeth and have a swig once you get to the hotel (and before you go to a store)?  Or are you carrying a couple days' supply?  ;-)

just a couple very small ones, airport stuff.  18 hours worth of airport waits and travel time does not look appealing.  not gallons worth, haha
