I landed in cai on saturday, and on sunday, the ladies don't work, so I didn't have any appointments. I called up the lady I had met the last time I was in cali, and we hung out on sunday. This was the lady i had met at margareth's party in december. She is very nice, but i don't think she's been in a serious relationship, and I don't think she really wants to now. She is very busy with school, and work. I was there for ten days, and saw her only 4 times. On monday, I told iveth what happened, and she was shocked. I wasn't mad at her, I was mad at felix, and I still am. I believe if you wronged someone, you atone for it, and in my mind he hasn't. I gave him the opportunity, and he didn't take it. I had four appointments down there, and Girl A, was actually a girl I had written to from a tlc magazine 6 years ago. She looks older now, and I told her about the letter I wrote 6 years ago. of course she doesn't remember, but I had to tell her. she seemed really nervous, and I didn't feel "it" when I was talking to her. Girl B came to my room and we talked quite abit. I had my laptop with me, and was playing some music on it and asked her if she could dance "american style". She said no, so I said "get up, and i will show you". So we're dancing, and we are close, and the manhood soon began to rise, feeling quite embarrased, I backed up and said "okay, sit down". She didn't know why I stopped but, I didn't want to offend her. A friend said "no man, they like that, you should have kept going". I get her number, and email, and said I will be in touch. She's thirty just like girl A, and her body was amazing. Girl C actually was talking with someone from minnasota, but was still looking. She was shown the door with a quickness. Girl D was an improv appointment, she was joining the agency and iveth wanted me to talk to her. I did and she was nice, just too young for me. I met up with cologre down there, very nice guy. i remember he complained about having to many girls. I was thinking, if you tell guys in america this they will say no way...but...they have to come see to believe. I hung out with iveth, and angela, also, very nice young ladies. My man steve hung out with his lovely latina, and they make a very nice couple. I've contacted girl B a few times, and we'll see how it goes. overall, a much nice trip this time than last, except for the fool not picking me up. hope you enjoyed, take care.

Chizz, if yu are still in Cali - you might try hanging out at Chippi Chapi. i've met some woman that way but it helps to speak spanish. also, you could try to negotiate with another agency to meet a few more woman. maybe try the agency run by Ricardo's ex. also 6th ave can be ok but dont go alone at night. i also enjoyed hiking Tres Cruces (three crosses), not far from Ricardo

Actually, I returned about two weeks ago, and I did hang out at Chipi Chapi. I speak enough spanish, where I don't need a translator when i am with a latina. The problem was that there was too much going on for me to understand. I have to pimsleau program, and I am on level 2, lesson 22. This program is good for starting off, but I am at the point now where I need another spanish person with me to get over that hump. I used ricardo's ex last time, and it was a disaster. Let's just say that I learned some things later, and I won't be going back. I personally prefer Acg.(except the driver not being there.)

Bryan, I have the Pimsleur 3 course, let me know if you want it. It is pretty good as it builds on the previous 2 courses. Here are some other things I have been doing:

1) I have been taking some private lessons. It's ok, but the instructor is not a native Spanish speaker and is not that great. Charges me $20/hr and comes to my house 2 nights per week.

2) I try to speak in Spanish as much as I possibly can. I talk to as many Latinas as possible. I call girls in Colombia every weekend, and I call or visit Spanish speaking friends I know here.

3) I commute 3 hours per day, so I listen to Spanish talk-radio the entire time.

4) I watch Spanish news and telenovelas as much as possible.

5) I have discovered Latin music. There really is a lot of different styles, and it is a lot of fun checking it all out. Granted, it is difficult to understand the words in many songs, however I find myself picking out more and more words.

In listening to the music, the talk-radio, watching TV, and visiting my friends, I find that I am starting to learn more about Latin culture which seems to help me in how I think in the language. Also, I believe that learning the culture will help with having a Latin wife.

P.S. As a side note, I met over 20 girls on my last visit, and one thing I noticed when talking to the girls is their almost universal love of music. It was a great ice-breaker and something we had in common when we starting talking about music. Every time I mentioned that I liked vallenato, their face always lit up...

Hasta luego,
Greg

Greg -
I have used and use a similar approach in learning spanish; watching spanish tv, and listening to as much music as I can.  it also helps to relate to the ladies I meet to know their culture and music, etc.  I am interested in getting ahead with more study and would be interested in the Pimsleur course you mentioned - tried to get some of it off the winmx but not with much luck.  I am planning to return to Colombia in the near future and and although I don't have a problem communicating with my dates, I want to increase my language skill a bit more.  buena suerte, adios!

Chizz, what a bummer!!!!  sorry you had such a krappy time. nothing worse than getting stranded at the airport. when i used LE i waited also for about an hour, somehow the office told the driver the wrong time which is typical for agencies.

sup mudd,
Aside from nobody picking me up, it wasn't to bad. I spent alot of time in the mall, and speaking with iveth and angela. I talked with colgre alot also. I was more comfortable this time, because it was my second time going. I'm thinking of making it my new vacation spot, not just for meeting women, but also for hanging out and having a good time.
