This is really about "Kid"napping in Colombia:

http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/americas/05/15/colombia.child.ap/index.html

One quote from an official that really resonated with me was when he blamed the incident on:

"the degradation of Colombian society and the loss of family values"

OK, this is what I've been saying about Latin America.  At least there is one person in the world who agrees with me.

Colombia has a forty year old civil war with unspeakable violence and cruelty on all sides.  95% of the population is not involved with drugs and they only have residual contact with this situation.

Rich people are frequent targets since terrorists can extort money from their families and lots of Colombians want to leave, This is what makes Colombia and Russia the two best sources of beautiful women for US men.

A child being kidnapped, no matter how horrible, does not reflect values of the general Colombian society.  Colombians are victims of these excesses in inhumanity.

Why are you responding to this payaso's attempt to start a thread. Do you think your response is new information? Please let him wilt on the vine. jimc
