Well I'm down to one pen pal...

Looks like "friends first" "get to know each other a while", Take things slowly.  Don't cut it with some filipinas.  I am new to this pen pal thing sence I met my first wife while I was in the Philippines.  I simply can not fall in love having never met someone in person.  Nor would I want to.  Yes you can learn a lot about a person but... realy she  or he is just a stranger till you have met and spent time together. ( not just a week or two)

So I have been chatting with a very nice filipina 32 from Davao (school teacher) for about six months or so. Just friends now but I am hopeful things will work out.

The bummer is it looks like I lost a old friend who use to post here.

You might be encountering women who have previously spent months on a long distance letter/phone relationship where the man never came through with a visit.  This is common in every area of the world where men look for foreign women.  Most guys only play at this and never really have the motivation to actually get on an airplane to travel to a foreign country to meet someone.  Perhaps the women simply want to know that you're serious and will really come visit at some time in the not too distant future.
