Who on the board met in the phils after vacationing there, not
by penpal method, is that possible, to me it seems difficult to
make a connection that way,

But it was a five month vacation and my fith trip vacationing in the Philippines. Its very possible to hook up that way and I think it can work well (if) you make the right choice of course. ;-)   Humabdos
