The below responses covered your problem.  If you really want to prevent it you must utilize "windows update" - all the time.  Better yet, download "Mozilla" and use that for your browser - and don't use "Outlook" for your email.  I have XP as well as other systems on my laptop - the only time I use "internet explorer" with XP is when I'm performing the windows update.  Get "Mozilla", it's free - it's faster, and it's safe!

Petey,

You have a virus.  What's system OS and what type of AV are you using?  You need to update you virus defs asap, as well as get the virus cleaned from your system.  Check out any AV site (McAfee.com, Norton AV, etc.), and they'll have the tools for you. -TNC

That is a worm called the W32.Blaster.Worm
Go to http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp for more information.

Good to hear, but make sure you get your AV updated.  Remember, if one virus got through, others will too. -TNC
