Aaron

Think what you want.  You still haven't called me to see how well I can speak Spanish.  That's probably because your own Spanish isn't up to the task.  That number again is 972-652-4314.

For about 5 of the last 7 years I've been married to women who do not speak English.  I speak to my wife in Spanish every day.  Her children, too.  My 6 year old American son probably speaks Spanish better than you because he uses it with his Mother and Stepmother every day.  When you get to the point where you think in both languages without noticing it, you've arrived.  That happened to me about 5 years ago.

Stop trying to show up everybody else when you don't know what you're talking about most of the time.  For somebody doing postgraduate work your own written English is crap.  Most people can at least handle their own native language.

BOSO is spelled with a Z. Payaso is interchangable and works just as well. Try it on for size!!!!  jimc

I guess 2 years of immersion may be your experience in attaining fluency.  What's the time limit if you happen to test out of the dull-normal range?

Si hay un payaso aqui, eres tu.

Y boso se escribe "Bozo", Bozo.

Jim

You lost me.  I thought bobo was Spanish children's slang for butt.  Bozo was a famous children's clown, right?  I think Boso is a misspelling.

My landlord used it with the same conotation as clown or idiot. Maybe someone else knows the answer. You know, someone who professes to speak better than the rest of us. A genius, we sure have a lot of them here. Just read the posts. They are the ones who say  "yea, but...."   a lot. jimc

The guy is having a hard time settling in Cali. It's ridiculous to expect him to now pack his bags again and head over to CR for several months.

You're right, Spanish is Spanish. And there are plenty of resources to learn it in Cali.

Costa Ricans are good only if you like them really really gorda.  About as gorda as the Americans and Mexicans.  Bad news.  I have been to C.R twice in the last year (for a total of about two weeks) and was in Cartagena, Bogota and Letitia (Leticia?) for ten days a year ago.  The comparison between Colombia and C.R. is like the comparison between Colombia and the U.S.
