A little young perhaps ?

I have mostly been dating women in their mid 30's.Last night I had a date with a girl Magareth recommended.She said she is very nice,has 2 kids and has had no appointments.I thought she was 27.Thats young of course but some of the ladies that age with children will consider older guys because they are getting no takers.
She is actually 25,with an 8 year old and a 6 year old.Very sweet girl,just like Margareth said.Her parents died when she was 4 and her sister raised her.The father of her kids died 4 years ago.They actually had a very good relationship,usually we are meeting the ones who did not.
We went to dinner at Cali Viejo.When the strolling musicians came by she was singing along with them.Just a happy sweet person.Just sitting there looking at her she looked so young,like she could be 18 or something.I could almost picture her in Pajamas with feet.I am thinking I wouldn't be with anyone like her in the states and if so we would stand out.But looking around the restaurant there were a number of young looking girls with older looking guys.
I guess I should have kept my mouth shut.I managed to avoid any age questions in our initial question and answer translated meeting.But I told her she seemed so young.I even said I could immagine her playing with her kids like one of them.She said yes and described fun things they do together,like bike riding.I asked her how old she thought I was.She said 45.I have been guessed 38-48 by a number of girls.I think 45 was kind of her mental limit also,so when I told her I was 60 she not only found it hard to believe but I think it kind of took the wind out of her sails.Just my impression.I was thinking a relationship like this could even work in Colombia,but what about in 10 years when she is 35 and I am 70?This girl struck me as the type who would never fool around on me,but she could get unhappy with the situation.
So yes,fun but too young.But it was a pleasant experience with a very nice person.She might be thinking about it if she gets no dates for the next year also.
OK,you guys out there that know me,how old do you think I look?you are not concerned about a second date.
One thing that does seem to happen is younger people judge you younger,kind of pulling you toward their  own age.
Oh,I consulted with a plastic surgeon yesterday about some of the isssues I am covering up with the beard and possible liposuction.He said we need to wait untill I am off the prednesone for at least 2 months or I would get alot more bleeding and bruising.I will be off it in 2 weeks,we are gradually cutting the dosage.And we agreed it would be a good idea to try and lose another 15 lbs or so before we looked at lipo.With my new apartment with gym and walkng trails I am supposed to get Monday I am going to use alot of this free time exercising.
Second date with nice looking 37 (?) year old tonight.

Pete too old too young who cares? You're not trying to get hitched in the next month are you? So just have a girlfriend or two or three...Enjoy...learn Spanish...learn salsa...dine out and see the sights with a chica linda on your arm.

Hi Petey, I mean Pete E.  Why worry about that now?  If you're still going out 8 months from now, you will have answered your own question.  If you've broken up by then, you will have likewise answered the question or the issue will become irrelevant.

I guess I wonder how she percieves me and if she would want to go out again.The answer to that might be yes because she has no other takers.I think she likes me but the age thing might be too much.
Even though I do want to get married again I'm in no hurry and a good girlfriend would do for now.Then I get worried about leading someone on that really does want a husband.
My date last night was 35.The second time we went out.She really likies me but is kind of shy about expressing it.
There is no real lightening with any of these girls so I will keep looking.
Margareth has this internal site with lots more girls and 40 pictures of some of them but there is no imformation given on them.There are 114 girls whoes first name starts with "A".What I want is a great looking girl 35 +/- so I will get the names of all the ones that look good and then get more imformation about them.
One of the guys staying at LE is a guy from Canada who is 48.I think I look about the same age.He does speak good spanish.He has a new girlfriend who is supposed to be hot,I haven't seen her yet.He was dating this other girl,31 who I thought looked good but both he and Margareth said many problems.
I have been meeting one a day,I told them just get me an appointment about 7 and we will go to dinner.That gets screwed up to where its 4 or 5 a week.I need to give them a much bigger list to work off and if a girl is not sure shge can make it tell decide when she can.The other day a lady didn't give us an answer untill 6 and it was to late to line up another one.When I get settled I may pick that up to 2 or 3 a day just to open up more possibilities of that mutual wow experience.

Pete, I would say you look early to mid-50s. Plastic surgery/lipo will probably take a few years off that impression. But having a youthful attitude, as you do, is the most important thing. I guess if I were you & planning on importing a gal to the U.S., I'd focus on ladies in their 30s.

It's true that Latinos generally see us gringos as younger than we really are. I notice it's hard for me to determine the ages of many Asian ladies. Clearly, we're better at guessing ages of people of our own ethnicity, since we're more familiar with them.

The same principle applies with young people. Ever notice how a 10-year old will say something like, "He looks pretty old - about 30 maybe"? I think lack of experience/exposure gives them trouble imagining how people look at, er, advanced ages.

Thus, 18-y.o. Latinas will often guess I'm 28-32, rather than the (boyishly handsome?) 45-year-old I am. I've seen more than a few pretty eyes glaze over when I let them in on the secret. After the jaw drops, the curtain comes down. That's why I now look at 25-30ish gals.

Thanks for your imput.You saw me with and without the beard.Did it make any difference is age impression?I think latinas generally don't like beards so its a negative even if it doesn't make you look older.They do like,I'm told,sort of a short go tee.I never cared for that look that much but am thinking about doing that before the possible surgury.Actually that was what I was going to do changing my beard  but I took too much off one side so I just cut the whole thing off except mustache.I didn't like some things about what I saw but it was probably preffered by most latinas.
I am going back and looking at Margareths internal site that has all the pictures of more girls but no imformation about them.I guess I am looking for very good looking 35.Some of the girls that look real good might be or they might be 25.Maybe there will be some hot 32 year old or so.
Some of the girls that showed up for appointments I don't remember picking at all.No thank you.Then others will look better than their pictures.

Hey Pete,

I haven't seen you since you've shaved your beard so this is the "old" Pete I'm talking about. (-:  BTW, I hear you look younger now...without it.  OK...so here it goes...I think, with your beard, you look like you're somewhere in your early fifties, I'd say somewhere between 50 and 55, maybe 52.  You look healthy and have a young attitude about life and this also helps you appear younger I think.  

In Colombia, the women frequently underestimate by 10 years or more.  A lot of people in their fifties and sixties in Cali look older than the same aged people in the States.  I attribute this to harder lifestyles etc..

Thanks for your imput.Thats sort of what I thought but then some girls guess younger.Maybe the younger persons perspective or not wanting to ofend.My son Barry told me when I first came here and would tell him what girls guessed "dad,you know they are lying."
But I think I might be able to do some improvements that will help.
I am growing back the beard.24 days and its almost what it was before.
One time at Universal studios in Florida I was at this booth where the guess your age and weight.I was 49 and 204.They guessed me as 39 and 190.The lady started to say 175 and the other people stopped her.One poor guy was 37,they guessed him 49.
Or,the ultimate insult,in my hometown there was a story of a guy that asked a women when the baby was due.She wasn't pregnant.

Pete, I met a gringo your age in Cali ( he spoke very good spanish).  He told me the same thing. The Colombian women could not correctly guess his age.  They always thought he was younger.  He attributed this to the racial differences. He claimed the latinas can't really tell how old a caucasion is.  I think he had a point and they truly don't  know how old you are Pete.
