I'm going Feb. 11th for 4 nights 5 days. Got round trip air, hotel Arena Blanca, king bed, safe, airport transfers, breakfast for 1.66 million pesos! (About $600USD). Maybe someone could suggest a great place for sunset, champange on the beach to "pop" the big question!! Bob

I don't recall any sunsets, probably had my attention elsewhere. A very good restaurant I believe heading East from town, I believe called Club Nautico has a very good setting right on the water. Another small place heading the opposite direction I believe it is call La Langosta can get you a cheap chair and table right on the beach. One of the few strips with a beach. You can rent scooter for the time your there. It is safe to drive at night.

I was there on my Honeymoon in December of 2002

I agree with ISWROTE as well. There is a great Lobster place on the other end of the island that is very remote. I do not remember the name of the place, but the owne is great and it has great sunsets , so that might be a great place to pop the question . I want to say it was called EL LANGOUSTA , but i am not for certain. You would not see many other pople in that area as well.

I went to San Andres/Providencia for my honeymoon Feb 2003.  I am not sure if there is a great spot for a sunset.  Not to say the sunsets aren't great but you will probably have to live with enjoying them with a whole lot of other people because I don't think there are really any private areas on San Andres.  But San Andres is nice, so don't sweat it too much.  You can spend one day in the sun over at Johnny Cay, which is a little island about 1/2 mile off the west shore of San Andres.

The shopping is pretty inexpensive in San Andres so you can take your gal shopping if she enjoys that without it bankrupting you.

I spent 3 days on Providencia and found it to be a real snooze, so I wouldn't recommend it but would suggest you spend all your time on San Andres.
