Rule number 1:  Never accompany a girl you just met to a grocery store after a date.  There is a good chance you will get an unpleasant surprise as you proceed through the check-out line.

Do I look like a dunce to you? The supermarket swindle happened on our 4th date. Which was admittedly about 3 too many.

Hmm, maybe I better get fitted for that dunce cap...

Hey John,

Don't get fitted yet.  Lots of others in that learning curve classroom.  If the truth be known, I would venture to say most of us guys have been had by one Latina sooner or later.

I experienced the "supermarket swindle" but, fortunately all she wanted was a bottle of shampoo.

My first trip down I got taken by the family experience. She showed up at the hotel for our dinner date with three family members. I didn't want to embarrass her and paid, but that was the end of her free ride and the beginning of the lifting of the blinders.

Pete, you're a great guy.  You're also 60.  If you want a woman who will really want you:

YOU ARE NOT A CANDIDATE FOR THE YOUNG ONES.

Pete

30, maybe.  I was at Latin Best 2 years ago and in walked a 40 year old that turned my head.  She had long hair and was not overweight.  Those were really my main criteria, but it's hard to find in women over 30.  There are some.

Meanwhile, if you want the young ones (20ish) you can get them even at 60.  But they won't really want you, they'll want the comfortable life you can give them.  If you're OK with that, then you can probably get it.

If you stay in Cali, they'll probably stay with you, but it probably won't be love.  But if you marry a young one you are going to give up your control.  You've been down that road.

Steve,
I have to admits, you give some great advice about the reality of age gap relationships. I think Margareth at the agency really is a good person. she understand how women think and she really seems to want Pete to find a good woman who loves him. Not one who will settle for him because he gives her a better life.
Pete, there are great looking latinas in their late 30's and even 40. Selma Hyak is 37 or 38 years old. So do your homework, and also look outside of the agencies for nice ladies. It may not happen often, but there are women out there who actually have a thing for much older guys.

Keep up with the excersice.Improving your health as well as your outer appearance is a must, especially if you want a much younger woman.. Being older, it would be unfair to let yourself go and invite a lot of health problems that come with age that will have to be dealt with by a young wife. Attraction is a 2 way street. You seem to be a very intelligent guy who wants it all. You can have it,but it will take work.

Do you care to comment on the tragedy of the Von Erichs?

On a summer night in 1978, on the shores of Bachman Lake, my girlfriend & I got caught by a flashlight-toting Dallas lawman. We were makin' whoopee in the back of my Daddy's company car. I'll never forget the disgusted look on that fat, Baptist mug of his (the cop, not my Dad).

She was my 1st Latina girlfriend, BTW. Guess I've never been the same since.

As a teenager in Big D I managed an outdoor skate rental shack on Bachman Lake, the shack and the adjoining German restaraunt are long since gone - as well as the Von Erichs and the owner (my boss) whom were best buds.  I had the fortune of being invited on all sorts of hunting shindigs with the gang (IOW I shot a bird or two then had to clean the airboat or some grunt job).  That was a great family and I never would have predicted that tragic outcome - and now that I think about it, probably had ties to Colombia.

I used to run around Bachman Lake on a daily basis in the early eighties.  When did you manage the skate rental place? Its my undestanding that the Von Erich (Adkinson) family was extremely wealthy and nearly owned the City of Lake Dallas.

You probably remember the place then, there were only 2 skate rental shops - one south towards Lemon on park grounds, then there was ours attached to the restaraunt - you'd remember the wooden deck if you had to ascend it.  The owner (my former boss) was a professional wrestler also - he passed away years back after suffering a long bout of MDS.  His wife sold that prime property shortly thereafter and last time I checked, there's a gas station there (the widow purchased a multi-million dollar shack up in Frisco).  The Von Erich's were regulars at that restaraunt, anyone would have been because my boss only imported tall, blonde, blue-eyed german gals to work there.  Heck, I got my 1st blowj--,  anyway, shoot me a PM over at CaliGringo.com to reminisce, those were indeed the good old days when LBJ only had 4 lanes each way.

Burbuja

Which tragedy?

1 - Does your question have something to do with my comment to Pete?  If so, it went over my head.

2 - I used to watch wrestling when I was a kid and their daddy was the big star here in Dallas.  I was fascinated by his "claw".  I haven't watched wrestling in 30 years.

3 - One day I was going to Dallas County courthouse and I saw one of the Von Erich boys in the parking garage.  I'm not sure which one.  He was one of the handsome ones with long hair.  Big guy.  I wouldn't want to get in a ring with him.
