The first lesson is a important one... if the girl is engaged then forget
about her, you lost out.. let the man that won her heart have her. You
might have inocence intentions but I myself have had that experience
with the old friends showing up to mess things up but are no where to
be found when the crap hits the fan.

This is really incredible. You ask one question about an old friend and your labeled a home recker. Like I said, I've learned my first valuable lesson about this board. I'm 48 years old and I have never pursued a woman that was either engaged or married and I don't plan to start now.

To address the issue of being attacked, please forgive those of us who jumped to conclusions.  If you have followed this board very long, you would know we have had many new posters who are simply trying to cause problems on the board.  At first you try to be tolerant of these trouble makers, but after awhile you get fed up with them and start lashing out and eventually you end up lashing out at even those with good intentions.  While it is easy to say we are a bunch of A-holes for jumping to conclusions, we have had TOO many insincere posters who just enjoy jerking other peoples' chain.  Believe me, some new posters have really taken us for a ride.

I would say the best advice to you is not to take the criticism to heart and just continue posting.  As you saw, most posters qualified their criticism of you when you explained things more clearly. After you are known awhile and seen to be sincere in your words, you will be able to say just about anything you want and not be criticised but unfortunately we are just getting to know you and like it or not, you may get a criticism or two until we do.  Even then there are no guarantees you won't get the occassional jab out of left field but it will definitely lessen.

You misunderstand my intensions. I'm not trying to pick her up. I'm just curious to know about her upcomming engagement. I have had contact with her off and on for the last three years but I haven't had any contact with her lately.

I didn't check the website but an amiga of mine used to be featured on the site rather prominately and her name is Ana Karina.  After I got married last year, I cut off more or less all contact with the my old amigas.  I have an email address and phone number, if you'd like to contact her yourself.
