I have been running all day but its been exciting,getting everything wrapped up,I leave 6.30 AM Sunday,will be in Cali that night.
I got my retirement visa from the Colombian Consulate today,so I can stay as long as I want in Colombia or come and go as I want.I think if you leave for over 2 years you lose it,similar to permanent residency here.I told my wife she needs to get her citizenship,then she could never lose it.They said it would take about 2 year 15 months ago but she didn't start it.I don't know if takes 2 years if she starts it now or if some of that time gets counted.She wa excited she could sponsor her brother for a relative visa,same one as a wife,but then found out it takes 10 years for a sibling to get an interview.Its faster for mother/father but they don't want to come here.
I'm staying at travelors suites on 9th,near Avenida Sexta initially,I hope to be in my big condo a week from now,but we will see.
I will definetly post.I'm taking a "shuttle" computer,a small box desk top.Its about 6" x 6" x 12".Got to get a flat panel monitor tommorow to take.I was told travelers has computer hook ups so hope fully I will be up and running Monday.
Somebody tell me again how to get my E-mail address to show in my profile.Its peiguren@aol.com.Plus I need to get all the latin womens list posts off it because I don't see my real mails sometimes.
I am feeling fine.I got a little insight on mt wife and the guys calling.These are guys she knows who I'm sure are interested in her,but some have been helping her try to get jobs where they work.But they know I will be gone the calls are increasing.I don't think she has really done much with anybody,which I thank her for.I don't care what she does when I'm gone.The guy the other night was telling her about a job but I'm sure he is also interested in her.It just got me she was talking to a guy and was having SUCH a good time doing it.Laughing away.Not just business.All Latinos without a pot to piss in,like JIM said.But I don't care,as long as I don't have to watch it.I am more concerned about culture shock than missing her.
Rocio agreed to the divorce settlement.She gets the house(no equity but she can stay 6-8 months),the furniture,her car I had given her anyway and I am paying off her credit cards,about $7000.But thats fine with me for no other hassles.I feel good about it and so does she,or at least she agreed.
Frank S and I were talking tonight.I was showing him girls on the internet I was interseted in.I told him maybe CAli PRo is right,I am going to be glad my wife gave me reason to leave.
My posts should pick up in interest.I appreciate all the support but know I kind of wore it out going on and on.I wish I didn't do that last post about the phone call.
I really do hope I get to meet any of you guys going to Cali.
We are having our final Saturday night boxing and bullsh!t get together tommorow night,Satuday12/5. Any bay area interseted,call me at 408-287-9829.My flight is at 6.30 AM out of San Francisco.I'm supposed to be at the airport by 4.30 and my stomach issues mean I eat and don't leave the house for 2 hours after I eat  soI may get no sleep at all.
I may not get time to post now untill Monday.

Hey Pete,

I hope your new life in Colombia is just what the doctor ordered.  Enjoy your time in Cali, keep a low profile, and please don't get in a relationship rebound right away.  Take your time in finding a special lady and don't you dare try to convince one that you can give her a better life.  Better to find the one that is crazy in love with you.

I don't see getting in a permanent relationship right away.Reminds me of one of my boating frieds,he had a plauqe on the dash of his boat.It said "marriages performed by the captain are only valid for the duration of the cruise."

Pete congratulations on your visa. If it's a "Temporal TS" you'll have to renew it at the Minesterio De Relaciones Extranjeras in Bogota every year for five years after which it becomes permanent. I have to do that this month. The pain in the @ss is they want an original birth certificate that's been issued with in three months of your visa registration every time you renew. Also in Cali you'll need to go to DAS to register it and get your cedula. Will give you the scoop in detail when you get here. Safe trip.

Yup,its a Temporal Especial TS.I thought that was the end of story,but 5 years is better than 6 months.A Cedula,is that something like a Corona? No I thought not.I guess I will find out.

Pete,

Sometimes you will find taxi drivers that don't have a clue where Traveler's Suites is located even when you give them the address. But, almost all the taxi drivers will know where Siglo venti-uno is. Just tell them to go to Siglo venti-uno and when you see the blue sign that says Siglo venti-uno take the first right and when you get to the top of the hill take the first left and you are there.

Anyway, let us know how things are going when you get to Cali. I'll be there in less than two weeks.
