Why not?  At least you can rule out green card as a motive for the relationship (assuming they have a green card - if she's here illegally a marriage pursuit will prove challenging).  On the flip side, if she's here legally - then how?  Either very wealthy family (tourist visa) or she divorced a gringo that got her green card.

Or as in my case, both of the above. No, not two divorces, one divorce involving both our your scenarios---but not until 16 years and two kids later.
