I once went across the border for some duck hunting - coming back I guess the decoys, guns & stuff was a little too suspicious - they completely gutted our chevy blazer in a detailed search.  Oh well, they put it back together pretty good - I guess we just have to put up with stuff like this at times (or never leave the US).

WE took my girlfiends Honda.2 of the hub caps fell off later, they didn't put them on good.
The jerk who searched us would stick his face right in yours and give you this eagle  eye. After the searches and the found nothing I was pissed.I said I want to know why we were searched(not a full body search, but my girlfriend was very scared). He gives me this eagle eye thing again and says one of the guys watching everybody drive up thought he recognized my girl friend as someone they recently stoped. The guy even came out and said you were here 2 days ago, right?Wrong.
I should have got the eagle eye assh-les name and filed a formal complaint. There was no reason to do that intimidating bullsh-t after he found out we were clean.I can't stand power trips. The big duck in the little pond.Guy without a life getting off jerking people around.Still pisses me off when I think about it.Then I think I have had very little of this in my life. How would I feel if I was a minority person who had had lots of this?Sometimes I can understand people like the Black Panthers even if I don't agree with what they do.Somewhere early in my life I developed a disdain for authority.I don't like anybody trying to intimidate me.

... in response to To Gary, Freddie, cancun, Rich and Trav...., posted by Cali James on Aug 25, 2003

Cali James, please remember what I mentioned: I filed a complaint against one of their co-workers at MIA in Dec. 2000. There's a good possiblilty that particular Inspector didn't get a "slap on the wrist." Let me explain: On Dec. 2, 2000, I had arrived at MIA from Cali. As soon as I de-planed, I was approached by this particular Inspector (Miami Cuban male). He asked me questions, which I answered. He accused me of being "condesending," but on the other hand, he was being arrogant, rude, sarcastic, and disrepectful towards. After nearly an hour, he searched my luggage (and found nothing). He said to me, I don't care if you're in Colombia getting $#%&& or not. YOU MUST TELL ME EVERYTHING!" Afterwards, I made my connecting flight to New York (barely). When I arrived home that same night, I looked up U.S. Customs on the 'net, and gave them a full account as to what happend (when I arrived at MIA to when I left MIA). I gave Customs this particular Inspector's badge number, physical description, and his first name (one of the other Inspectors mentioned it). Exactly eight days after I returned home, I received a phone call from his boss (the Port Director of U.S. Customs at MIA). We had spoken for about five minutes. Let's just say this: when I gone through MIA in Aug. 2001 and Dec. 2001, I didn't see that same Inspector who started this crap with me. There are three possibilites: 1) he may have had to work on another shift, 2) he may have been assigned to do surveillance work, or 3) he may have been re-assigned to another part of the U.S. His co-workers (at MIA) recognize me on sight. Therefore, "let's give this guy some static."  Of those three incidents that I've dealt with at MIA, two of them were PRIOR to Sept. 11, 2001. What can I say? A close-knit unit will always going to stick together. I'm NOT paranoid, but it's in my best interests to avoid MIA. Take care.
