OK Pete,
I apologize to you too. I attacked you, and when I did it I used your personal information. I'm sorry.
You are a good poster here, and have usually been very diplomatic with everyone. We have been friends for a long time on this board, and we discussed everthing from politics, race relationships, the war on drugs, and finding a wife in Colombia. I have always considered you to be one of the most open-minded posters about many things.
The reasons why I attacked you were because you and a few others made the comments about "Colombians being more likely to think lying is acceptable sometimes." That dissappointed me because I really didn't think you would make those types of statements about a group of people. I felt let down, and I started to think that you weren't sincere about how you felt about other groups of people that are different than yourself. Also, I felt bad because you offended Colman, a young Colombian guy, who never wrote a bad thing about anyone here. But, if you would notice, he hasn't posted since then, and I'm pretty sure it's because of the comments some people have made, even though he addressed important issues indirectly in his posts. But, I'm sure you were lashing out at the time because of other things.
Another reason why I attacked you is because many times you made ridiculing comments about me being in academia, professors at universities, and how we are living in a dream world with a "group think mentality." I hope that will be my livelihood in the near future. You know when someone talks about another person's livelihood, they're talking about the worth of the person.
Well, listen, I know things got carried away, and were very negative in the last two months, but I'm willing to sincerely apologize for the attacks I made, and we can continue to be friends if you want on or off the board like before.
I also think you should apologize too. But if you don't want to, then that's ok.
I'm sorry,
Aaron
