Any of you guys have experiencing moving furniture, cars, and other large items to Colombia. There are a few "movers" listed on other sites but I obviously don't know anything about them.

On another front, I've got about five weeks till my fiancee gets here and the excitement is obviously building. Like so many of you before me the time has come for "preparing" the lilly pad.

Thank in advance for the input guys!

She's going to go through every drawer and box and closet you have. She'll look at every picture you have ever taken and just snoop around. It's harmless unless you have things you don't want her to see. My wife and I only live about an hour and a half from you. Give me an e-mail and we can get together after you guys are settled.

Shipping a car was discussed today on the South American branch of the Lonely-Planet "thorntree" forum.

The amount that you pay moving furniture, a car, and other large items to Colombia will probably exceed the cost of buying all knew stuff once you get down there. That is common sense. If you have sentimental items, then by all means take them. But, if you don't have much in sentimental value, sale it to someone up here.

Are you being for real?
