I wanted to be with my novia on Christmas and checked with my travel agent.  The cheapest she could find was $919 for christmas time.  If I go on thanksgiving, the price drops to about $650.  I also asked about flights in January and was told that the Domestic Airlines don’t drop their fares until April.  Any ideas?

Try Barbara Garcia at All Around Travel,Bellview Washington. They have an 800 #.She is married to a Colombian and specializes in Colombia.
You didn't say where you were traveling from or to.Most flights to Colombia go through Miami. So there is getting to Miami and then there is getting to Cali or Bogota or wherever you are going. You can buy Southwest Airline round trip coupons out of the newspaper and probably on the web. They cost $175 to $350 round trip anywhere Southwest goes.Wholesalers offer $175 and ask around $350.If you get them right from the person who has them, maybe run an add,you might get them for $250 or so.Southwest flies to Ft.Lauderdale, about 25 miles from the Miami airport.Southwest coupons are no hassle,no questions asked, you can travel last miniute if there are seats.
From Miami ACES used to be about $380 round trip to Cali(great Airline also)It may be higher around Christmas, but there are many other airlines,American, usually more $,but there are Avianca and some others.

XMAS is the high season into Latin America, prices tend to drop by the 3rd week of January as everyone who has gone home for XMAS has returned by then.

Agree with El D., I have found good deals to LA between Christmas and Easter.
