How loud is music at Cali Salsa Clubs

Here in the states the music at clubs is so loud you can not even carry on a conversation.
At the end of the evening when you go home your ears are ringing.
How loud is the music at the Cali Salsa clubs?

There are probably some Salsa specific clubs but it seems to me anyway that there's a big variety of music being played at any given club.  They play a lot of American music too like trance.

Its just as loud. I went to several of them.
