Post editing now working

No doubt there will be some bugs found as it's used by more people, but it appears to be working now.

Posts may be edited only on the same day they are posted.  All date stamps are based on USA eastern standard time.  If you happen to post a message at 11:59PM and then try to edit it one minute later, the editing will not work.

Patrick...anyway to get around having to jockeying back and forth with the cookie settings in order to edit or post a message?

Congratulations, you've found the first bug.  This will only affect those who do not accept cookies for the site.  I didn't consider people who have cookies turned off for this domain. I thought that everyone would have them turned on since it makes posting easier (don't have to enter your password each time you post a message).  I'll have to add in some additional code for those with cookies turned off so they can enter their password in the edit script instead of the script getting it from their cookie.

Editing is for people who either find spelling/grammer errors in their posts that they wish to correct, or to completely delete the text when they see something they've written in anger and regret saying it.  The time limit is to prevent people from continually editing their posts to try to win arguments (not that we ever have any arguments here!)  I could make a change to the time/date stamp to include the hour also.  Right now it's just date, but if I added hour, I could make it a true 24 hour editing window.  Changing the date stamp will require changes in several other scripts as well for archiving and general posting, so it's going to be some work.
