As some of you know, Luisa is expecting and the due date is February. Her mother has an embassy appointment for June, and we are filing to change the date of the appointment. Also, we're hoping she can stay for 90 days instead of simply 30 days.
I'm sending supporting documents to my suegra for her interview and for the change of appointment form--anyone have experience with this?
If it will help, I can fly down for her cita and also when she comes to the states, so I can go through immigration with her.
Any ideas? We're concerned about her being able to come in. My father-in-law is staying in Colombia for this visit, which will 'guarantee' she will return, or so says our government. My suegra wants to help for a few months, we're hoping she gets a 90-day visitor's visa, but we are concerned with the INS actions now.
Should we be looking at other visa types? What are the difficulties at the embassy and INS at the airport for such a visit?
Has anyone gone through this process lately?
any info is appreciated,
