I just saw that Ecuador's sucre is 26,075 to 1 US dollar. What does 26,075 sucre buy you in Ecuador? And, it's 9.84 sucres per 1 Colombian peso. And, we all know what 1 peso buys you in Colombia. 5 local phone calls or MAYBE a big box of chicle.
Anyone know in sucres what a nice lunch or dinner might cost you or taxi fare or hotel room?
Thanks

The US dollar is the standard currency, when they first switched no one wanted them, but soon that was all they wanted to accept. The cost of a nice dinner out in Guayaquil is $10 to $20 per person. They have MacDonalds, KFC, Pizza Hut, and even Taco Bell. My wife is from there, Ecuador receives little attention on this board. I think it is a untapped area, but I know of no agencies there.

Gonzo,
Give us the low down. Where did you go? How was it? Expensive?
I met some girls from Ecudor in NYC a couple of years ago that were real beauties and friendly. I would be interested in your story.
Thanks,
Roberto

Per link to the Ecuadorian embassy, "The US dollar replaced the national currency, Sucre, and significant reforms were approved by Congress on March 1, 2000."  Perhaps Sucre's continue to circulate in tandem?
