For Cali visitors: Yesterday in the afternoon the director of the jail in Yumbo was shot to death when he pulled in to Esso station across the street from Chipichapi. Gettin close, Chipichapi has always been considered a "safe" place for gringos to hang out.

Some of these minor officials have a problem.Well know enough to be a target, not important enough to have a whole entourage around them protecting them.So unless you are the well protected they can get about anybody they want to.
Its scary just knowing these guys are around.Sounds more like criminal retaliation than rebels.Makes the old west look a little tame.Makes me want to stay the hell out of Cali.Maybe you should become Cartegena vet or something like that.

Not a bad idea. In that neck of the woods I'll take Santa Marta.

Hey Cali Vet,

Do you know if it was a robbery or an assination?

It was definitely an assination. It's down a few headlines in todays El Pais. The location caught my attention.
