I remember reading stastistics,I don't remember the numbers, but married guys live longer than single guys.
So if someone could really quantify the risk a guy is taking by spending ( X amount of days in Colombia) X (his chance of finding a wife)X( married mans advantage in life expectancy),we might find that 2 weeks of maybe getting shot or kidnapped are far outweighed by several more years of life expectancy.(not to mention quality of life)
Lets see,who could we get to crunch the numbers? He would have to be unbiased.Well hell that ends that idea.
Of course the safest thing is to stay home,at least in the short run, untill you die of being miserable or kill yourself with other vices because you don't have a wife.Or are contemplating the probability of---when you step in front of a bus.
I always wanted to crunch the numbers from the troops in desert storm. My guess was more guys would have died right here is the US from car crashes, shot by ex wife, shot by jealous husband, drug OD,ect then we lost over there.I mean 500,000 young guys for a year? They could get in alot of trouble right here at home.
A guy named Ashleigh Briliant used to do little humerous post cards about 20 years ago.One I remembered showed 2 little eyes peering out of a cave. The caption was"If you are carefull enough nothing bad or good will ever happen to you."
Serously though, how high is the chance of something happening if a guy is Carefull?Pretty da-m small I think.Of course stupid behavior can mutiply your ods tremendously.
