Just curious of those who have married filipinas, on the board,
with all the recent talk of homesickness, etc,

For those here on the board who are married,

1) how long have you been married.

2)How much has homesickness and missing the family and the
philippines in general affected your relationship.

3) What are the ages of you and your wife(husband)

4)How long did you know each other before you were married,
better yet how much time did you spend together in the phils
before you came to the usa the first time

5)How do you feel things are going now?

We have been married 6 years. 1- 5 year old child and 1 on the way. It took about 6 months to get over the homesick stuff.I found that having children and putting down roots early in the relationship helped alot. My wife is 34 and I am 40.Things are hard at first but at about 2-3 years it got alot better and now it gets better each day.We wrote each other for about 8 months before I made my trip.It took 4 months for Fiance' Visa and we were married 2 weeks after she got here.

Answers

1)  11mo, 5days, 4hrs

2)  Not as much as I have thought at times.  At first it was pretty bad, but she has found ways to deal with, or so she says :c)

3)  I am 35, my wife is 21

4)  We wrote for a year before I went to the Phils, spent two weeks together in the Phils., spent the next year writing and waiting for K1 approval.  So... 2yrs total before she came here and we were wed.

5)  Jury's still out, but I feel strongly that things will work out

Hope this helps!
