... in response to Tell me about ''ODEE Agency in Bogota'', posted by KentAtl on Jun 10, 2002I’ve used ODEE in the manner that you seem to be doing; i.e., essentially to facilitate a writing approach, and for “on the ground support” and to have someone to meet you at El Dorardo International. I didn’t end up staying with any of the ladies I met through the first round of letter writing, but I am engaged to a Bogotana I met through contacts made through ODEE. Any agency will have a range of clients, male and female, but ODEE seems to me like a good choice if you are somewhat put off by some of what one reads about agencies, or are attracted to women who might feel the same.
I haven’t used LAI other than to send flowers in Bogota. From that limited contact, my impression is of an operation with a great deal of integrity in matters of business, and very much on top of things in terms of customer support (no complaints from me about ODEE either, by the way). I’ve read many positive things about LAI and very few negative things, so Nelson Grisales must be doing something right. With all due respects to both agencies, LAI seems like a better choice if you want the traditional agency approach; you want the camaraderie of other gringos, 5 citas a day, lodging co-located with the agency office, translator close at hand, etc. I seem to recall some co-marketing ventures between the two agencies in the past, so the perhaps the choice needn’t be either/or. I think perhaps the decision about trip strategy is more fundamental than that of the agency.
