Racy clothes

Often when my 28 yr old Colombian girlfriend of a year and a half visits me in Atlanta on her student visa, she wears clothes like she is in Cali or something(too much flesh, racy looking). I think I have figured out how to not hurt her feelings by saying "no latin clothes today please" and make sure she has some classier clothes by taking her shopping to some nice stores.  She certainly can't afford clothes right now and comes from a lower income family.  But although we get along well and she is a sweetheart, sometimes this makes me think she is not my type and I should keep looking.  Certainly time and advanced age would remedy this.  Anybody run into this?

I'd go back and read Mike's (JunFan) experience in archive 86. I'm not saying your novia is the same as his wife, just that you both pointed out that they're from poorer families. Maybe there are some similarities you'll want to think about.

One typical Cali girl look is with the bare midrift,belly button showing.Last time we were in Cali we were walking through Chipi Chapi and I was noticing even there many of the girls did not have the body for it too be flattering.That look would be extremely casual here and would be out of place in many settings.Even looks a little strange in a shopping mall.

I know exactly what your talking about. I could handle just about anything my exwife wore except when her boobs were just about to pop out of her top (if you know what I mean).
But, cold weather did have an impact on her choice of clothes.

By the way if your girl friend comes from a fairly poor family how did she obtain a student visa. It is my understanding that student visas are kind of like tourist visas in that the women must prove that she has a good reason to return to Colombia. Does your girl friend own any real properity? How did she over come this at the embassy? Had she traveled outside of Colombia before?

Winter will take care of that. Most of the Cali females I know take jackets and blankets to the movie theater because the airconditioning is too cold. A taste of a 'Hotlanta' winter will have her so covered up she will look like an Eskimo. Meanwhile...the 'shopping' idea will work. It's a very subtle way to both guide her towards noticing what other women are wearing and providing her with the same.

You are kidding right?  This is one of the wonderful aspects about Colombian women is that they dress very sexy!! No disrespect but if you want a woman who does not dress sexy....stick with American woman.....stay away from Colombia!!!!!!

If you want someone to dress very sexy, then hang-out in a strip club.  I simply told my friend from Colombia that the style of dress is a little more conservative here and that some people might get the wrong impression.
