Colombia, a different approach

With all the turmoil recently in Colombia I postponed my visit and tried something a little different. The first few times I visited Colombia I stayed at agencies and hotels and pretty much just met the women through the agencies.

Last Sunday I placed a personal ad through a freind of mine who is employed by El Pais in Cali. Nothing elaborate; just a small photo and text stating that I was looking to meet my special someone. I got a pretty good deal on the ad so I placed it for the last two Sundays in April and the last two in May.

The results have been to say the least overwhelming. The first two days poroduced more than 20 e-mail responses with at least 6 containing photos. They came from Cali, Bogota, Bucaramanga, Buenaventura...everywhere. I can honestly attest to the fact that the quality of the responses I received was impressive. The only negative responses came from two agency owners.

For those of you considering joing the agencies who charge membership fees this may be an excellent alternative. For about $ 100.00 you can place your own ad and respond to as many women as you like. Practice your espanol and head off to Colombia.

It is getting a little tough answering all of the e-mails since new ones keep trickling in every day but it is like having your own portfolio to select from.

How would someone like me do that (post own personal) and can you keep it to just one city (so I wouldn't have to travel a lot or give false hopes to ones not in the city I can go to).

If you get good enough in Spanish, you have no need for any agency service at all.  You just contact a newspaper where ever you're interested in meeting ladies and place your own personal ad.  No need to confine your search to cities that have agencies in them when you know Spanish.  You go where ever you want!  You can actually communicate with the ladies rather than pay translators or interpreters, or fumble around with English/Spanish dictionaries while trying to ask her to pass the salt please!

I think studying Spanish is the single best thing you can do if you're interested in Latin women.

It's not as complicated as you think. I posted my ads thru the Cali office so it will be placed in their local paper. The paper is a countrywide one but has regions. The responses I got from outside of Cali were by people who got their papers from someone they know. I got 3 fresh responses today which brings the total to about 30. 75% of the total responses have come from Cali and the surrounding area.
