Why did Hoda remove his trip report? I read it over a year ago and it has helped inspire me during my search.

Has someone been causing trouble?

I used to frequent this board quite often last spring and summer--any major stories since then?

Thanks,

Tim.

From what I remember one of the Trolls lifted it and used the photos to make sex tour advertisement site.  After that I think he(Hoda) pulled the story.  I remember at the time Patrick said that in order to post, you needed to include photos with your story, but since then I read a Russian story in the section that did not include photos.  Maybe this policy has changed.

And I agree with Pete E, looking forward to the wedding announcement.

I think Hoda is getting married like next month.I believe thats what he generaly indicated some time back.
The FARC won't be finding that guy from his posts.
We will probably get an after the event post from him.

Tim,
If you are talking about Hoda's original trip report starting in September 1999(hard to believe he still hasen't married that girl,he seemed like such a man of action from his reports)(just joking Howard)the archives don't go back that far anymore.I asked Patrick about it and he said there was a space limitation.I don't know if they are permanently gone or just unavialable now.I think Hoda has a copy he might mail you.
I did a 14 post report starting in December 1999 and I used to like to go back and read it and some off the responses I got.
Yes Hoda's report was not only intertaining but inspirational.I had already booked my trip but if I hadn't I would have after reading his reports.
And the late great Crystall Palace. What a place. What an experience.Sorry you new guys missed it.Too bad enough people didn't want to pay up what it cost to keep it alive.
Patrick,is there any way we can get the old archives back or are they long gone?

Pete

Hoda's trip report was taken down after someone down loaded a photo of his fiancee from the report and used it to create a fake escort service site making it look like Hoda was running it.

I'm storing 60 archives per board right now and anything below the lowest number listed has been erased, so yes, they're gone.  I know a way to compress the archives to make them take about half the space they currently do, but making the transition to the new format requires extensive changes to several scripts and a conversion of the existing archives.  I'm not sure whan I can get around to it, but it's on my to-do list.

Patrick I am a computer novice but I have seen sites such as "picture judge" that don't permit right cliking of a displayed image. Could you install such a barrier so that trip reports w/photos could be displayed without fear of abuse?

Sure he could, but it wouldn't do any good. If its on your screen, its in your cache, just use "explore" to go get it.

I am a computer tech. I went to the "picture judge" site. You are right, they don't allow right clicks, HOWEVER, you can use the key combination "ALT" + "Print Screen" to capture the image and then Paste it in another progran such as "Paint". After that move, you can then do what you want with it i.e send it all over the Internet. I don't think any Web master can get around this as it is done on your own computer. My 2 cents worth...........Canadian.
