You weren't alone at all. Sometimes the anti-Colombian crew pops up every so often. Funny how they try and bash Colombia, but we in turn, have "NEVER" found it necessary to belittle another country or method of trying to find & be found by love. They (the anti-Colombia crew)have been itching for a beat-down for a couple of weeks. Like I said, don't sweat it. Guys need to go, where their heart & preference leads them. Be it Colombia, Brazil, the FSU, or Asia. There is never a need to "hate" on another country!

Peace....Hoda

...but then Hoda, you like that kind of behavior, as I have seen it time and time again on this forum. You guys amaze me, as you jump on calivets boat when he says 'show me some agency photos of these Mexican shadow beauties', then you berate me for calling you on your anti-Mexican language. Yes, I am for alternative means of meeting Latinas, it has worked out for me and countless others. There are other options that are not fraught with players or green card sharks. Language schools, opportunity for work transfers, vacations even...I have only tried to explain how I did, what I did and what the results were, while also saying I believed Mexicanas are as beautiful, perhaps more traditional, than Colombian girls. You guys challenged me all the way. That is OK...you guys can have your Colombian women forum to yourselves. I was looking for ways to cut back my time I spend on this idiot box, and I think I will start by trash canning this forum. I don't need the aggravation, as I only tried to post positive information, perhaps a little over exuberant at times, but positive nonetheless. I wish you all luck in the future, even you Hoda...randy

... in response to Make that anti-in-your-face..., posted by Alteno on Mar 27, 2002

Hi Randy,

I think some people who have traveled to places other than Cali, Bogota or Barranquilla become frustrated at P.L. as the discussion relates primarily to these places.  It's not that people have anything against Mexico or Brazil for example but rather few people who are active members have experiences in these other places.  People here on the board write about the places they know, it's not a conspiracy as much as a reflecftion of the traveling people have done.  I've been to La Paz, Bolivia; Bogota and Cali but 99% of what I ever write about is related to Cali as I have spent so much time there.  I'm sure many people are sick to death of the incessant Cali talk but the great thing about a forum like this is you can skip the threads that don't interest you.

With regard to your posts on Mexico, I think your taking a few challenges too personally.  So Calivet was skeptical of your claim about women in your wife's region being the most beautiful in all the world.  I must admit to being skeptical also as I think it's obvious that the most beautiful women in L.A. come from Pereira and Manizales Colombia.  Talk about a hotbed for Latin beauties...wow...but I digress. (-:  In any event, I wouldn't make too much of it as statements of these kind are frequently challenged here.  You should also consider that most guys on P.L. have novias and wives from Cali and so anyone who says somewhere else has something BETTER is going to get a run for their money.

Anyway, I think your posts on Mexico are more than welcome here and I would encourage you to continue posting.  We've had lively exchanges in the past that didn't turn into personal attacks and I see no reason why we can't in the future.

Particulary if you remember that "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I'm sure Randy's wife is very pretty by his tastes, and I saw her pic on his web page, she "ain't my type", I perfer "triguena" or even a fairly light "morena" (in Colombian terms, the same terms in Mexico would be "morena" and "negrita", repectivly) but Randy's wife IS very pretty.

Now, if you like them with a lot of Indian blood (I do, but them what do I know, I grew up dating Cherokees and Creeks), and full figured, not "BBW", but an "hour glass" with lots of time left on it, Honduras has some real beauties. Only problem is they tend to be very poor and not well educated. The prettiest woman (by my standards) I ever met was from Honduras, but we only worked together, never dated. In Mexico, I think Veracruz has some real beauties, most of them have just a little bit of African ancestory, not as much as say Panama or Brazil, but enough so you can see it exists.  I used to live in Mexico City (a million years ago, actually 1976) and they are pretty too, as are the ones in Puebla. I don't know about Guadalajara (except for the pics of Randy's wife), I've never been there. Despite all that, I wound up married to a Costa Rican for 16 years. Almost all of them (Costa Ricans) are of either Italian (like my ex-wife) or Spanish descent. Very few (about 1%) with any Indian blood.  Also there is a large enough to mention Black population in and around Limon, but they came from Jamacia in the early 1900's and (according to my X) they still insist on speaking English and for the most part don't have any romantic relationship with the Whites, and she swears if you went to Limon you would think you were in Jamacia.

When I started "the search" I had actualy planned to go back to Mexico, but got side tracked to Colombia because there were just so many of them and so few Mexicans on the web or enrolled with the address seller agencies. As I've posted before, Dallas is thick with Mexican women (2000 Census says Dallas is 35% Hispanic, probably 95% of that is Mexican), but the immigrants tend to be uneducated and/or already hooked up with a local Mexican guy (that they very likely knew in Mexico and they came up here to join him). The born and raised here 2nd, 3rd or more generations "Mexican Americans" tend to be just that, AW women who only look like latinas but have most of the AW traits and charistics that so many guys say they want to avoid.

Right now I'm talking pretty seriously with a divorced 39yo housewife from Cali, with 3 kids, no less, but her two daughters are adults now (she got married at 14, had her first kid at 16) and her 16yo son lives with his father and she says he will stay there even if she comes up here. Now, no promisses until we meet in person and spend some time together, but from our phone calls I'd say she stands a good chance of being "the one". I'm also emailing with a 27yo stripper from Buenos Aries (no, she hasn't sent me any "this is me at work" pictures yet, darn it, just one in "Daisy Duke" shorts---and she makes Daisy Duke look like Boss Hogg), but honestly I don't see that one working out, I just wrote her out of curosity when I saw what her profile said her occupation was. I was really suprized that she even answered me, but we've had five or six emails now, and except for her occupation, she seems very nice and she's starting to ask the kind of questions that indicate she really is looking for a man for a legitmate marriage. Who knows? Scammer? Shark? Could be, still way too early to tell, but I'm keeping my eyes wide open and my wallet shut, ha ha. Besides, I really like the one from Cali and I'll definately visit her and see what comes of it before promissing anything to Buenos Aries.

Anyway, today a guy at work asked me "Haven't heard you mention her lately, you still going with that girl from Colombia?" and I said "No, I thought I told you a couple of months ago that was over, but I am talking to a couple of new ones, a 39yo divorcee with 3 kids and a 27yo stripper, wanna see their pictures?" He said "Sure", so I showed him a pic of the 39yo and after he put his eyes back in the sockets he said "WOW! This must be the stripper!" I said "No, that's the 39yo" and he said "That woman could KILL you"---yeah, but what a way to go.

I hear ya bro,

You're definitely "old school" which is the best school.
Thanks for sharing intimate details of your quest. You get a "Big Up" for dealing with a woman w/children in my book. Besides the fact, that your search has covered a few countries. If possible, could you post your lady from Argentina reactions to gringo's looking for love in her country & how the current economic situation is affecting both you & her? No doubting the beauty of ladies in Brazil, Mexico & Argentina. It's just that guys need continuous info from guys who are going, to consider these places as alternatives to Colombia. The largest countries in S.A. have some social/economic/whatever problems going on now. But with up to date info, guys can judge for themselves the risk to benefit ratio of traveling there. Thanks again & please keep the board informed of any & all info.

Peace...

p.s. What a way to go.....that's priceless...LMAO!!!

But I don't want to take credit I haven't earned. A woman with 2 ADULT daughters and a 16yo son that I won't have to deal with is NOT the same thing as agreeing to take on the responsibiliy for a woman with 2 or 3 young DEPENDENT kids, that's the guy you should give credit to.

About the ecconomy in Argentina, we haven't discussed that. I think she's relunctant to bring it up for fear of being called a gold digger, I mean, with her job she already has two stikes in that department.

You can't post with facts, so you wanna lie 'bout things. I'VE NEVER, EVER insulted or belittled another COUNTRY, CULTURE OR WOMEN HERE...GOT THAT??? You started your "Anti Colombian" rant with Calivet. I didn't bother to join in, since CV was handling things quite well thank-you very much. Since you continue to call us names (idiot box) because some didn't heed your call or had the audacity to question to you, in regards to post, step-off if you must! In regards to the your aggravation with this forum. I know, you haven't been aggravated half as much as I have. I may take a break, but I come back, Why? Because I don't have all the answers, but I do have a few, that may help the next guy. Just like those before me, have helped me. You say that you've might have been too exuberant at times, but positive nonetheless....Not all the time Randy.

Best of luck to you ane your lady...Peace

... in response to Basura...S.O.S., posted by Hoda on Mar 27, 2002

Sorry you took it wrong. I have a vacation this week (semana santa) and I have a ton of yard work to do, but I end up spending all morning on the computer (idiot box). I need to cut back and start taking in more of Mexico, as I believe we will be moving back to the USA (Sandpoint, Idaho I hope) in late summer. So, I was looking for ways to cut the time I spend on these doggone message boards. I will peek in and see what is going on, but I need to get out and enjoy living in another culture, even if it is landscaping!

for mis-interpreting your remarks. Yard work...Yuck! I can see why you spent time on the "idiot box". Idaho you say? Beautiful country from what I've seen (via photo's) & from what friends have told me. I'll take it for granted that your lady is aware of the changing climate conditions there. I've pounded into my ladies head countless times, that we have "Four" seasons. Not the one season, that she is familiar with. She's never had to wear a pair of gloves or a scarf...LOL! BTW, is there a spanish speaking population in Idaho, where you plan on moving?

Peace...

Wow!  How rude.  I hope you'll post in another day or so, after rereading your post if you really want to come across like that.
