I’ve got to say something about all this “cream of the crop” stuff. I have met some men that think that they are the cream of the crop. Well, most of them are arrogant, spoiled, loud, boastful, and don’t respect women very much. Maybe it’s because like the cream of the crop women, they get dates no matter how shallow they are. In a truly just world, these “cream of the crop” people deserve each other. They can go on through life making each other miserable and never really knowing why. Just my opinion………..Canadian.

My wife had never been called before for a date to the agency due to a lousy picture.  She just knocked on the agency door while looking for another address about 3 months earlier, and they talked her into filling out a profile.  When I asked them to call her, and the phone rang, she at first didn't even remember who Latin Encounters was.  The pictures don't say that much about the beauty.  With the mediocre pictures, you often will find a stunning beauty, with a kind heart who has never dated a gringo before.  That was my case.

I also don't believe that if a girl gets asked out alot, and still is at the agency that she is less then desirable.  There was this one girl named Carolina at the agency that alot of the guys would call.  She was very sweet, and drop dead gorgeous.  I found out through the agency that none of the guys that had gone out with her really followed through.  She was a little young for me, and I just didn't think it would fly.  She was one of those girls that you never forget.

I also dated another gorgeous girl that I'm convinced just liked eating out all the time.

I truly agree with the fact that many girls look different in person than on the photograph. I had personal experience with this phenomenon so right now I am cautious with that. The trick is to be able to identify which girl is the good choice by looking at the picture. That is why I do beleive that tours are better choice than correspondence because you get a chance to see many girls in person and then decide what you like. Selection by picture alone may drive you for months just to realize that you dont really like that girl.

Conclusion: If it shines it is not necessary a gold.

Very good point about the photos. They can be really deceptive and work both ways making very pretty girls look like plain janes while some of those "studio" photos make a plain jane look like a professional model. In fact I'll go out on a limb and say that when you come accross one of those professional studio facial shots the individual is likely to appear quite different in person.

I'm curious. You say that men at B&B agencies that get there first get the "cream of the crop" how does that really differ from the whole 700 to 40 ratio at a group function? The guys are still going after the prettiest girls at those events, leaving around 680 women staring at their feet while the 40 guys are fighting over the attention of 20 women! In my experience in a B&B type agency, it's not unusual to see the same woman have dates with a number of different men in a short period of time. How is that any different than what the men do? If you can't get an appointment with a girl because she's booked, reschedule the appointment.

How can there be a "first" in an agency B&B environment anyway? There's a continuous flow of men clients in both directions. The only first is if you're the first to ask out a girl who has just recently signed up.

I'm afraid we're talking to ourselves here, the guy is just a barker trying to drum up business for Smith's next money-maker. I doubt he'll be back to address any of the issues raised. I'm surprised he didn't just invite us into the tent to see "live Barranquilla women" with our very own eyes.

$900 plus $100+ for drinks for the pretty girl and friends who drag you off to a disco before you can meet the others,including  some less flashy and agressive but also beautifull girls who are sincere about finding a husband.
Sounds like a $900 ego trip to me.That could buy you a week in Santa Marta at a first class hotel on the beach with the girl you missed while being hustled by the pushy ones.This deal is almost as bad as paying $1000 to join an agency.If you found this site you should know better by now.Its a deal for dummies that read an ad in USA today.Actually I shouldn't say dummies.Even if it costs you an extra $900 to find out about Colombia its worth it to find this option.
And as I said before,a guy I know did it knowing the options.He said he just wanted the experience.I immagine you would never forget it even if you didn't get to meet a sincere girl.

Let's not forget the airfare and the hotel, not included. If you're new you probobly stayed at the Puerta del Sol in Barranquilla for around $100 a night, in Cali it would be the Hotel Intercontinental, same price or higher (I'll never know!) I went to a tour once.  Two qualities absolutely reign at the tours: how you look (i.e. are you young (under 40) and handsome and with much less emphasis; do you speak Spanish. I was one of maybe four in my age group out of fourty guys. My saving grace was speaking Spanish. At these events there is always a  huge group of party girls (including pros). Some (many?) already have local boyfriends, they came for the food and to get out of the house. You walk up to an attractive girl and you have no idea if or how many kids she has, or anything else about her, you get cornered by "mature" versions of Betty la Fea, and you make dates only to have many of them canceled later when you call to confirm since she met somebody she liked a little better five minutes after you had your turn at conversation. I found it to be a waste of time and money and I would never reccomend it to anyone so long as there are agencies where you can screen and speak one on one and have the undivided attention of the girls you choose.
