Author Topic: Correspondence with women from Barranquilla  (Read 6610 times)

There's been more discussion lately about Barranquilla.  I think Barranquilla might be a good alternative to Cali and if anyone is interested in the correspondence route, Barranquilla Beauties is offering a correspondence package that is reasonable in price and where all the ladies are from the same city.  Anyway they are selling a catalog of 350 women, bio's, email adresses and phone numbers included all for $99.  It looks a lot like what TLC has done and a video of their last tour is included.

Here's the URL for info. on the catalog if anyone is interested:

EL D,

The similarity that you have astutely noticed between Sam's agency and TLC is due to the fact that Sam worked for TLC prior to starting his own agency.

As a drop in type service, Sam's agency serves it's purpose, as there are more ladies available to meet than are on his *website.

However, as an address/correspondence source....it's a little sketchy, because said website is not updated often, so many ladies on the site are no longer available, no longer interested, and/or the address given is not valid. -Not to mention that there are quite a few *duplicates.

just .02

Tai

* Many ladies had a picture taken in the office, then another picture taken at the group-tour party. Often the ladies looked so different in the two pictures, that they are both posted to the website unknowingly.

... in response to Re: Correspondence with women from Barra..., posted by Tai on Feb 1, 2002

Hi Tai,

To be honest, I went ahead and bought the catalog a couple weeks back with all the contact information (phone numbers, email addresses etc.) I am leaning more towards Bogota for my next trip but curiosity got the better of me and I purchased the package.  (We're not talking a lot of money at $99). Anyway I went through each bio and looked at them pretty closely.  I didn't see one duplicate in the catalog at least with respect to the women that caught my attention. But your point is lost on me even if it were true.  As an example let's say 10% are duplicates, 320 women of the 354 would still be unique.  Hardly a small number and unlike TLC where the women are scattered all around Latin America, this group of women would be all in one place.

Your second point is that many of the women are no longer available.  Assuming this is true on the website, which I don't really know one way or another, this may not be true in the catalog.  I really doubt it to be honest, Cali gets 10 times the gringo traffic that Barranquilla does yet despite this only a small percentage of the Calenas end up married or engaged to gringos.  But for the sake of argument again, let's say 33% (which is generious IMO) of the girls are no longer interested, we are still left after elimininating duplicates over 200 women.

Now moving beyond the theoretical, I'll tell you my own experience to date.  What I did was pick out a group of 7 women that interested me.  (BTW I could have easily picked 20 as there was no shortage of women)  I sent each woman an email and of the 7 I got 2 responses, 2 returned emails from invalid addresses and 3 that I have heard nothing from.  Now the 3 that didn't respond may have done so for the very reasons you mentioned but it may be because I'm 40 years old and spend too much time on this board, who knows.

So I guess what I'm trying to suggest is that despite everything you've said, in the end does it really matter. We're not looking for 350 wives but only one.  It seems to me anyway that here's a large group of women who are easily contacted by email and all in one city.  I think this might be a very good option for a guy who is interested in correspondence with women from Barranquilla.

El D,

If you've already bought the addresses and it seems like a good deal to you, then cool, do your thing.

Perhaps he has bettered his address/correspondence program, if so then I stand "somewhat" corrected.

The "I Love Latins" site was the original site. It listed more information, including whether or not the ladies had children. Now it is more of the promotional/informational side, and the "Barranquilla Beauties" site is focused on selling addresses. Note: The photo albums of the "I Love Latins" site have not been changed significantly since Sept. of 2000. After a few "complaints", the photos of the ladies who had already married were marked as such, though well after the fact.

Having a good friend, a profesora at beauty college in Barranquilla, along with a few well placed others, I have encountered quite a few ladies whose pictures were still being sold well after they weren't interested/available. -Granted, not 200-350, but my information is nevertheless first hand. Wink

I didn't buy the catalog, so I'll take your word for there not being many duplicates in the package of addresses that you received. But if you look at both sites, you will find the same ladies(As a whole, the younger and prettiest ladies were brought over from the I Love Latins site). -If it is important to know whether a lady on the Barranquilla Beauties site has children, the I love Latins site is the place to look.

In the end, if a guy meets "the one", the rest won't matter anyway.

Again, I'm glad to know that it seems to be worthwhile, and I wish you the best of luck.

Tai

Hi Tai,

I haven't looked too closely at either of his sites.  What I purchased was a physical catalog containg 354 photos and another bigger booklet with bio and contact information on each person.  If you are interested you can see an image of the scanned catalog pages with the URL I provided in my original post.  By looking at this you might be able to confirm the duplicates you had mentioned.  I would imagine the photos in my booklet come from both sources and from their office photos also.  I have no doubt that some of the photos and info. are old and outdated.  But again, there are so many choices that it doesn't really matter much to me. If I were buying individual addresses, I'd feel much differently.  For individual addresses I'd expect all the information to be accurate because I'm focusing in on a small group of women and paying for each one individually.  However this catalog for $99 is more like buying in bulk and because of this, I'm not too concerned about the shortcomings of some of the addresses.  It's so simple to send off an introduction email, that a person could use volume to weed out the outdated addresses.

You talking about next year?I am a Raiders fan also, but they have been very disapointing, never living up to the talent they have.(the last 20 years or so)Of course one theory is its Al Davis's A--Hole karma that causes them to lose.I thought this year might be different. You can Complain about the call in that New England Game, but if the Raiders hadn't lost their last 3 games they would have been playing at home, not in the snow.
I hope John Gruden sticks around. It seems they were always missing either a quarterback or a coach and now they seem to have both.I was hoping Jerry Rice would get another superbowl ring to show the 49ers that if your the best wide reciever who ever lived 39 isn't so old.The 49ers wern't throwing much to Jerry when he was there the last few years, just like to Terrel Owens this year.I wish somebody was trying to hire Mariucci insted of Gruden.

Pete,

Last season, next season...it's all the same. Up here in Oakland, we claim the Raiders win or lose. Wink

I am hoping that the Raiders keep Gruden. I think that he has done well by the team. BUT, last I heard ol' AL was looking for a scapegoat, and Gruden just may be it.

The Raiders have a bad habit of playing hard for the first three quarters and then slacking off in the fourth.

The round robin free agency of the Raiders is also taking it toll on the team chemistry....and "Wiz" is not coming back next season.

About playing in the snow...hey they are professional players and they are getting paid a lot of money to perform under a variety of weather and physical conditions, as well as pressures(theoretically).

Note: As cold as its been up here lately, they should've already been acclimatized.

I think that "the call" was a moot point. If the Raiders had gotten their sh#@ together and played like they really wanted it, they wouldn't have been in that position where the game was decided by a "ref's call".

Tai

ps - Jerry is 39? Wow, he's still the man. Terrel Owens? He plays basketball at the same gym I do. Great receiver, but he's a big spoiled baby.

Tai,
Jerry just turned 39 or 40,I can't remember, they made a deal out of it a few weeks ago during a game.
Even though Jerry is(was) the best reciever ever I think Terrell is better at this point.I think the 49ers should have got rid of JJ stokes and kept Jerry, but money was a big issue also.At least he is in Oakland where he is getting more use.He really started to come on at the end of the season,I think it took him time to learn their system.Untill that Tim Brown(also excellent) was doing better.
Sounds like Gruden wants to go.I think he wants a situation where he is the man instead of having Al Davis with so much control. If not for the year left on his contract he would be in Tampa Bay.Its too bad because he has really pulled the Raiders together. But what I really dislike Davis for is his treatment of Marcus Allen. He could have been the all time rushing leader with a team that would have used him,and he could have helped them win.Talk about egos getting in the way of winning.I think Davis doesn't want any super stars to outshine him.Plus he was mad at Marcus for respecting the strike.Little ego games like Mariucci and Terrell.I haven't thought of Terrell as a whiner because he seems to have a legitamate point. He is the 49ers only  superstar and they need to use him alot if they want to win.
I think he was probably correct about why they lost the Chicago game.Goes to show even a 3 score lead in the 4th quarter isn't safe.Bury them, even if it does embarress your friend.I never liked that let up philosophy.I figure the fans deserve to know if you are 30 points better than the other team.

I should note that not all the Barranquilla women had email addresses but a large percentage did.  I believe they are selling the house address primarily but where a woman has given her email address it is included also.

My experience with the Calenas suggests that most agency girls have email addresses but a smaller percentage of them access it regularly.  This might explain the invalid addresses, possibly from inactivity.  In any event, if a guy wanted to cover all his bases an email and a letter to her house would be the better method.  I'm just too lazy at this point to write snail mail.
