Author Topic: A very nice day....  (Read 333 times)

Hi all, I've been reading all the intensity going back and forth about prenups...while my newly arrived (this morning) fiance quietly sleeps in the other room. I can really relate to almost all sides on varying levels and I respect these positions. But right now, I just can't seem to get this smile off my face. The last 2 years have been really heavy for both of us. Mostly, I am just thankful she is finally here.

I'm happy for you!  I hope you keep that smile, you've paid for it with the two "heavy" years.

Jay, I think you might be getting out of here (California that is) at just the right time with the energy situation and gas prices..etc. I hope Florida works out for you..I have too very good friends that live there, one in Jacksonville and one in Coco Beach..They both used to live here to..one loves it there, the other is considering coming back here. So that's 50/50 odds, not bad. I have spent a fair amount of time there off and on and I think I could get used to it. Besides it's a good prep for PI if you ever decide to go back and build that Nipa Hut near the ocean. For retirement I would have to throw Belize into the hat also, I did a vacation there and loved the southern portion of it. Well that's long way off..only time well tell..

Hi Zebson,

I am very happy for both of you. I can just picture your smile. Keep it! You wear it well. ;oD

My fiancee and I are into 11 months of "heavy." My July trip has been postponed indefinately, due to my responsibilities as a single parent. You have brightened my day, by reminding me there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good Luck and Best Wishes!

Thanks for your thoughts guys..Yes, it's a new feeling especially for me. I have never been married, only lived with some women over the years. I have been single for so long now that I am used to having everything my way..This morning, I am watching Helen putting things here and there and I am thinking, "no, that doesn't go there", then I am thinking to myself again, "hey man, let it go...let it go and get used to it". We were laughing about how I said, "is there something wrong" Because she was looking around with a strange expression on her face at everything..She looks at me and smiles and says, "If it were perfectly clean and everything was where it should be, then there would be"...That was classic..Exactly!

Glad to hear your good news.

I told Tess that the house was her territory.  She could do with it what she wanted.  I felt she would be better at that stuff than me.

By the way, perhaps we will meet sometime.  I am in Orange County and I think you are up in San Bernardino County area.

Stephen, about the house..I am beginning to feel that way too. After today her second day here she has me already moving things around, cleaning..etc. I used to live in O.C. it's my old stomping grounds and a get together would be nice. Your are correct about me being in San Berdo, I am up in the Lytle Creek area if you are familiar with it.

Lytle Creek is my old shooting area before they built it all up. I'm in OC, too - Huntington Beach.

Congrats on getting your fiance over.

Hey Jeff,

I used to shoot up in Lytle Creek a loooooong time ago also. Used to be good fox hunting up there (the 4-legged variety). Heck, maybe we even shot at each other before? You know what they say about us So. Cal. hunters... :-). Did you ever take the back road up to Mt. Baldy?

Great trip! - the old Hiway 46. I also had great fun 4 wheeling up the dirt roads on the far (Palmdale) side and hooking up to the Angeles Crest. Good quail hunting areas.
