Luisa's 2-year residency card (Why is it called a 'green card'-- it ain't green) arrived tuesday, after 15 days. Texas is working VERY FAST on their processing!We're handled through the Mesquite office. I'm impressed with the new program there.

Jeff,
Thats the quikest I have heard of.I think it took my wife 6 weeks or so out of Miami.I have heard 3-4 month stories.
Actually of more immediate use is the Social Security card,which you can get in about 10 days,even before she recieves the green card.They will accept her visa to get it going.In the case of my wife someone at the embassy in Bogota wrote over a number on my wifes visa and we couldn´t get the SS card untill after she got her green card.

It used to be green back in the days.

Did you pay the "premium fee" that the INS wants if you want your process to move fast?

We payed whatever we were supposed to down in Colombia, but otherwise the processing was normal up here... no premium that I know of, just the regular rates.
