This sucks...her site has been like a bible for getting through the fiancee and spousal visa process for a lot of people, myself included. Even her advice on askme.com has been taken down. Admittedly, there are other sites out there but this was one of the most comprehensive.

From Alvena:

This page was recently closed due to a letter I received from the Kentucky Bar Association. I apologize to those of you who may be seeking assistance without the benefit of an attorney. Under Kentucky Law, it appears that I would be well advised to not help you in any way.

You may want to read the Kentucky KRS Statue regarding practice of law. http://www.crossingthebar.com/KY-UPL.htm

As you can see, it pretty well prevents anyone from telling anyone anything about anything.

Move the site to a server outside the state of Kentucky? or just the offensive material to say, geocities or another free server with a link from her site??? Just a couple of ideas. I have some available server space.

Hi "Kentucky Joe" Humabdos,

Maybe she could have called it "Alvena's Psychic Immigration Hotline."

I am not a lawyer, but have played one on TV. The only law that I am aware of involving relations with relatives in Kentucky, is that they must be over the age of 15. ;o)If an "underage" female becomes pregnant, they just claim that they were on vacation in West Virginia when it happened. =;o0

I dreamed I was on this float trip on a Wesat Virginia river , Some guy who looked like uncle Fester in a purple G string playing a banjo and the next thing I know he was asking me to squeal like a baboy! I am never going to West virginia!

Hi Texabdos,

ROFLMAO I'm glad I could help. Down South, we consider "Deliverance" to be a sad Southern love story. Burt Reynolds as Louis, had to go and spoil all the fun and romance. I have never been able to watch Ned Beaty in a movie again, without thinking of him as a "squealing sow." ;Cool

The way those Philippine baboys cryed when they wanted food was eerie...it sounded human.

That's what really blows...alot of her info was just compiled information on how to prepare the various forms and packages....I mean good god, that was the whole original purpose of the web...for exhanging information with colleagues and as many have seen going through all this is that there are many "gray" areas.

What got her into more trouble I believe was the askme.com stuff because that's where she was giving out what could constitute as legal advice despite her usual disclaimer that she's not a lawyer and such. I still don't see why she should be issued a cease and desist for her main site since it was all just information about what INS or embassies expect aided by others' experiences. Most of it was how to fill out forms and whatnot.
