Hello Everyone!!!

Could anyone share what is the least expensive and most reliable code to use to call Cali?   I have tried 10 10 629  (10 cents a min) at it was not that good.  I have also tried 101-5335 (15 cents a min) It was somewhat  better.

I have heard the phone systems in Cali are not that great which could be contributing to the problem.

Anyway feedback would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks!!!

I have been using a calling card called Texas Plus you can order from the internet. I have tried about 15 cards since I got married. This one costs $5 and has 81 minutes. There is no connection fee but they do get you for a one time .59 cents "service fee".  We actually buy them at a discount place near our house which costs $4.50 for a $5.00 card. This averages out to about .07 per minute. Another advantage to calling cards is you can control how much you spend as well. I know that you can order this same card from the internet. You might search google.com for Texas Plus Calling Card and if you don't find it their post something and I will get you the internet address I see it on the local Spanish channel all the time.

I brought an MCI phone card down with me when I went to Cali.  I tried calling from an agency to the US and it wouldn't work.  Out of frustration, I finally used an AT&T phone card from the same phone and it worked perfectly.  I have also used WORLD PHONE from the US to Colombia and have found it to be unreliable, i.e. phone disconnection and bad lines.  I have tried other cards that say they are cheap but don't work.  The only card that provides reliable service is AT&T.  The main disadvantage of AT&T is the cost.

I have used 101 6868 for two years and find the connections great. There is no connection charge you are billed on your regular bill and costs 18 cents a minute so if she is not there it casts .18  . Some times it is difficult from 8:00 to 10:00 because all the colombians in Miami are calling mom.  JIM C

I have had good results with Penny Talk. The connection is typically pretty good and I am happy with the rate of $0.09 per minute  for calls to Cali with a $0.49 connection charge. Calls to Cali tend to go through pretty well from central Florida.

In using these discount calling cards/plans, I usually have a couple different ones to use in the event of bad connections.... AT&T still seems to provide the best service for me, but I use it as a backup due to the cost.

Buy a Colombianita calling card,The one my wife uses has a connect charge of about $1.25 but after that its about $.045 a miniute.I thought it was $.12 a miniute but she let me listen when she called with a new $20 card and it said she had like 7 hours and twenty miniutes.Beats the $.12 cards if you talk over 20 miniutes, which my wife always does. The lines are good, which is not true of all cards and all number code calls.
We by them at Phonecards-prepaid.com.You can have a card(number) in a few miniutes.

Don't know if it is available in your area.
I have had good luck with 10-10-345.
$0.17 per minute. Very good connections.
I have also tried 10-16-868, stinks!
And 10-10-834, marginal.

If it is raining in Colombia expect problems with any connection. Once my novia's phone line stopped working in the middle of a conversation and was out for over 12 hours.
Colombian telephone service sometimes is quite bad.

I use 10-10-345 myself.  It's AT&T's dial around although it is referred to as Lucky Dog.  There's a 15 cent connection fee and 17 cents per minute including those to cellular phones .  The current rate is good through January 6th and will likely be extended.  I used a lot of cards but found the quality to be unpredictable if not poor.  This is perhaps a little more expensive but the lines are great and it works every time.
