A 49-YEAR-OLD American, who is said to be a doctor, has been accused of raping his 19-year-old pen pal at the Holiday Inn in Ermita, Manila last Friday, police said.
Members of the Western Police District General Assignments Section are now looking for
Stephen Blair, said to be a doctor of medicine, who last stayed at the Holiday Inn on United Nations Avenue in Ermita.
His young pen pal, a resident of Port Area, Manila, told police she went to the hotel at about 7 p.m. Friday to meet the American, according to the case investigator, PO2 Rommel Anicete.
Blair and the young woman had long been writing letters to each other, the investigator said. They decided to finally meet Friday night after the American arrived in Manila, police said.
Inside Blair’s hotel room, the American and the young woman exchanged pleasantries, but the latter was shocked when the foreigner suddenly forced himself upon her, police said.
The young woman said that she was able to escape at about 1 a.m. the following day, after the American fell asleep. She went straight to the nearby WPD headquarters to report the alleged assault.
