I think that you should try and contact her and see what does or does *not* develop. Otherwise, I think that you will always wonder what might have been - this way you will have an answer one way or the other.

I'm not telling you to rush into a serious relationship, just to try to open the door and see what develops, over time.

Richard,

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'm not going to forget her. But, I don't know what to do at this time about trying to contact her.

That's a bit of a delicate topic.  We've had some problems in that area that I know my wife wouldn't want posted on the internet. We're still hopeful though.

I understand.  We had problems and decided to adopt a girl from Guatemala.  If you ever need information let me know.

Good luck!

Patrick,
Can you tell me how long it took your wife to get comfortable behind the wheel?  Did you help teach her or did you get outside help?

Sears Driving School is coming here next week to begin teaching my wife....poor ba$tard!!...he doesn't know what he's walking into...lol.

Good story,
Mike

... in response to Driving Accident, posted by JunFan on Nov 8, 2001

I'm teaching my wife to drive, she doing great. She drives to slow on the freeways (55) and then gets scared when everyone is passing her. With time and practice, she'll get better. I plan on having her take her driving test in Jan or Feb. The best thing about her is she WANTS my criticism. She wants to get better and this makes it easy to teach her.

... in response to Driving Accident, posted by JunFan on Nov 8, 2001

My wife had a driver's license in Colombia and told me that she had already driven.  I sure wouldn't have wanted to be a pedestrian with her driving down the road.

I taught her myself starting in a parking lot with an automatic transmission and she took her driving test twice before passing.  The first driving test ended very abruptly about a block away from the DMV, but she passed the second time.  It wasn't until she already had the driver's license that she had the accident while backing out of a parking space.

I noticed that for the first year or so she would drive way too slow on the freeway (like 45 mph) and way too fast on the side streets.  She was afraid of the freeway traffic and wasn't afraid enough on the side streets.  She's not bad after 4 years of driving now, but I think we'll stick with automatic V8s with lots of mass.
