I still think the guys going down to Colombia are crazy. It's dangerous as hell, most the women in Cale speak no English. Once you find one,  what if she wants to work in the U.S., she can't find a job if she can't speak english?  and this is coming from an almost fluent Spanish speaker. It seems like most of the guys going down there are looking at mostly just physical appearence and if you can't speak the language how are you supposed to have a relationship with them. That is why I think alot of these marriages fail. Its like meeting girls here, you have to communicate with them to find out which one is right or wrong for you and with a translator it make it even harder to see threw all the B.S. sOME GUYS GET THE LUCK OF THE DRAW AND HAVE VERY HAPPY MARRIAGES, im not saying it doesn't happen but others get screwed. All im saying is Costa Rica the women might be more stuck up slightly and more fussy about the guys, but can you blame them if they are going to spend the rest of their life with you, that means they are being honest with you and really do want a relationship with you and not just a green card, and most ticas are pretty honest people and don't take advantage of you that bad, at least the normal girls and most of all Costa Rica is safe and many of the girls speak English.

what the heck brought this on? yea you have some good points however, why go to a place like costa rica where the women are just as fussy and snotty as the american women when you can go to colombia and meet a much friendlier,sweeter type woman. hey if i want snotty aggresive women i'll stay right here in the good ole u s a.

Hey pack,

I can't comment on women from Costa Rica, but I had to laugh when you said that about women in the US.  I think one of the "mysteries" about why men do this is found in the comment about friendlier, sweeter  vs. snotty, agressive.

I know I didn't rule out dating American women, but they ruled out themselves.  I had "unreasonable" criteria, must like men, must be capable of forming a friendship, must make my life better.  I'm sure you get the idea.  It was disappointing to see how many women couldn't meet this standard.  I wouldn't rule out AM but I think from dating for over 10 years, I wouldn't limit my options to only AM either.

Whew!  You said it, man.  I have some good women friends and good AM/AW couple friends so I know it happens, it just seems like in today's American culture it is hard to find a partner for a healthy, long term relationship.  I'm not saying it isn't easy to get involved with someone.

Anyway, my dating days are over.  Janne (my friend from Brazil) will hopefully be getting here within the month.

Happy im in regular communication with 7 women in brazil right now i hope to travel to brazil sometime in the near future. so i assume you like the brazillianas? what city or cities do you suggest as a good area to find wife potentials?

Pack,

You've been dodging the bullet long enough, I hope the right one gets you soon.  I'm happy to hear you are corresponding with 7 prospects.

I don't know if city is so much the determining factor for good prospects or not.  I think age, education, and english proficiency would be better qualifiers.  I guess I'm saying I didn't really search by city.  Unless you are highly proficient in Portuguese, or don't mind burning the money for travel, I'd make sure you have a strong trust and friendship with the person, so that when you get there, if you don't have chemistry you could at least have a vacation and enjoy a little about Brazil with them.  

I don't think it is the same as Colombia, in terms of having a good infrastructure with agencies, so you will likely be on your own, or depending on the person you are meeting for logistical support.

It's a nice country, I hope you get a chance to find out.

BTW, how's everything with the cardiologist?  You ok?

havent decided what im going to do yet, cali or brazil..im leaning to brazil right now. the problem is brazil such a big country and the girls im in contact with are spread out from one end of the country to the other.
iv always wanted to see brazil i hear its beautiful and the women certainly look good to me.
 well after many trips to doctors and specialist test after test and several thousand dollars in debt the doctors have decided that i have a compressed nerve in the middle of my back which if aggravated causes spasms much like the heart attack(pains in back,chest,arm,neck,etc.). what to do..they hav me on special medication ,cant sleep on one side of my body,cant lift over a certain weight,etc. im o k, feeling pretty good these days. thanks for asking.

I think Mike makes an excellent point about the communications problem if they don't speak english.  Yes, you can establish a relationship if you speak Spainish, but what happens when she come to America?  Unless you live in an area where Spainish is widely spoken by a large community, I suspect she runs the risk of feeling isolated.
