Stephen,

I think CC's original point was about you generalizing that all Chinese were bad....just like you're generalizing that ALL Muslims are bad. You're always going have militants and fundamentalists in any religious or political group. You may as well say ALL Christians are bad too because of these nuts that go around bombing abortion clinics with people inside them...all "in the name of God." They represent the Christian populace about as much as the Abu Sayef represents all Muslims.

I agree with the original post, though. Best to stay clear of Zamboanga with all the rebel activity going on.

Pete:

Did you miss the "LOL" in the post?

I was spoofing CC.  A spoof is an exageration.

Hey Stephen,

I'd better start saving. How much of the $1.60 ransom is my share. I think that cc should have to pay more than the rest of us. ;o)))

It is very sad about cc's penpal's house and family store being burned down. Life is tough enough in the Philippines, without terrorizing hoodlums. The new Philippine President is making quite an impression on me. Unlike her classmate Bill, Gloria has a better use for her "balls."

Well, of course $1.60 isn't a lot of money.

And I know that you're probably broke, so you wouldn't be able to give much.  But what I had in mind for you is that a picture of you in your purple G-String (waving the American flag) PLUS the $1.60 could probably turn the tide.

Can we count on you?

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in this important national matter.

Stephen,

You can count on me 100%. I will send the picture of me and ol' purple, waving Old Glory. Along with the picture, I have about 17 cents to my name, that I will send. ;o)

I am starting the "Jeffrey Shilling Diet," so I won't need much money. It is all the rice you can eat, with your hands bound and mouth gagged. :oX

Hippie?!?!?! I resemble that remark! Smiley I alway's prefered the word "freak", as in the older meaning. Smiley

No, no, just kidding, always ready to do whatever is necessary for my country.

Got a new 'puter (a super-duper 1.2 GHz monster), so I have this new PL account. That's why I'm "Still Jay", couldn't use my old account. Now I have "MSN" and it really sux! Smiley Hope you and Tess are doing good. Sorry I haven't e-mailed, I owe alot of people one, like kevin, Carl, Jim (too late now, he's in the RP).

Take Care,
Jay

Howdy Jay:

Good to hear from you again.  I was wondering where you had been.

Glad to hear about your new computer.  Tell me what you got.  Are you satisfied with it?

I'm getting ready to get a new computer and can use the advice.

Hi Stephen,

I know about as much about computers as I do how to cook fish heads properly! Smiley Want me to tell you about it on the board?? I don't like to brag. Smiley I'd be happy to tell ya about it though, and what little I've learned.

Yes.... (sigh)...
By the way, things have definitely NOT calmed down there! I talked with my friend in Jolo again last night and the fighting has very much intensified since the release of Schilling a few days ago. Soldiers everywhere, more fires burning in the villages - it's all out war and the Philippine army is really going after the rebels (which is good!)

Meeting in malls I do not know about but going to Zamboaga I have heard is dangerous for Americans.
