Hi,

I've got a reservation for Wednesday night to Bogota via Lacsa/Taca. The Taca web page says that, as of last night, flights are not running to and from Latin America from the U.S. Does anyone know if this is generally true and if so, when the ban will lift? I can't get through to Lacsa via phone.

From the lacsa.com webpage:

  "GRUPO TACA will resume normal operations on all routes to and from the U.S. beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time ( 5:00 p.m. Central American time) on Saturday, September 15. Flights to and from Canada will resume on Monday, September 17."

Aces Airline just confirmed (12:45PM CST) that my flight from Miami to Cali tomorrow (Sept. 16th) is a GO.

i'd just reschedule if i were you. the airlines are a mess right now and its gonna take them a few weeks to get it all together. continintal is laying off 12,000 employees and all the other airlines are going to do the same. they are all working out the kinks in the security. there are lots of problems right now. good luck!

Hi Sol,
Yesterday (9-14) I went to LAX. I was supposed to go to Cali via Miami.
The Flight from LAX to Miami was a go. The flight from Miami to Cali was not. I suspect it will be a number of days yet, perhaps a week. The American air carriers will re-schedule flights for free or refund your money. I re-scheduled my flight to a later date.
