Hi,

I'm taking my fiance to Santa Marta for a few days later this month. Can anyone recommend hotels (with price and quality info)? Also, any suggestions on how to get a good price on plane tickets from Bogota to Santa Marta?

I'm having a travel agent in the US (ABS Travel) investigate this for me and I thought I'd check with the community here to see what experiences you've had with travel/hotel in Santa Marta.

Thanks,
Sol

Santa Marta has some really economical hotels while Rodadero fifteen minutes away is more upscale and completely tourist focused. Unless you go during Semana Santa you can just walk up to most of them and get a room. I have a travel agent friend in Cali who speaks English and Spanish. She has arranged several vacation trips for me in Colombia. Ask for Liliana Cadivid at 011 572 667 2830

I also recommend the sorrento.  i stayed there and was very happy, it's very close to the beach,  2 bedrooms (4 beds)were clean, with  a/c, the people were kind and the breakfasts were delicious, no complaints, all for 40/ day.
