This last week I recieved my FM-3 visa, which basically allows me residency and the right to work in Mexico, as well as affording me more multiple entries into the country without any hassles; a 'green card' if you will.
I realize that my route is the exception here. We will live in Arandas, Jalisco for at least ten months, as Gloria is Administrator in a Hospital her brother in law owns.
I actually can't wait to get back. It will be a real experience being the only Gringo in the town, but I am going to look at all the positives, and being with Gloria will make it fun. I am returning in about one month, and will live in Guadalajara until the wedding on Nov. 17th, then move to Arandas after the Luna de Miel. Thanks to those for their suggestions on the Dominican Republic, but I think we are going to stay in Mexico and go to a very nice, quiet resort area on the Pacific. There are excellent packages out of Guadalajara for all Mexican destinations, as well as Cuba.
We will talk whether we want to move to Queretaro, Guadalajara or back to the USA, as we realize we have much more earning potential. But, I have been learning the past two years, that is not what life is about. I am kind of attached to Gloria's family, and they are many in numbers, which is what I am looking for. I am leaning toward staying in Mexico for the long haul...
Saludos desde Oregon, Randy
